AnOrdain

Anordain recently opened their waitlists again. And I managed to get a slot for 2027.

It is going to be hard long wait but worth it. Their fume dials are amazing (although I am also quite liking their model 3) and unique, not to mention really good value for money. I will have a choice nearer the time to select my watch so lets see.

Very excited!

Congrats!
I totally forgot my build date since I haven’t thought about it in a while… June 2026!

Good to see they're opening on the lists again as their dials are fantastic. Am intrigued by their Method dials as well, although the asking price is close to 5k when its all said and done to the states.

Honestly it’s so far away I haven’t given it any serious thought but am leaning towards the model 1, medium size, fume dial in green, blue or plum (will try to figure out which is most legible).

We’ll revise it in 2026, 2027, and 2028 when our build slots all come up!

Adding some from their website. These are bascially handmade enamel dials.

For those who have seen any of the fume dials IRL, which one has the greatest contrast / legibility?

I have the model 1 fume in green pictured above. No issues at all with legibility, thought the plum , grey and blue are quite legible as well. Wonderful enamel dial for the price. Love the strap options as well. Congrats.

worth check ing out their sister brand Paulin - they have vastly improved the design of late, and while not as special as Anordain, they are good fun pieces.

I showed my wife the model 3 and she loved it and encouraged me to get on the wait list. So, here we are.

Over on hodinkee, it sounds like more expensive models are lined up for the future, with some custom designed bridges or something from higher end ebache sources. Should be interesting and historically, that's how it was done.

Forgot to add, in the hodinkee interview, the founder said they are working with Chronode on movement possibilities. Chronode makes movements for Czapek, for example, iirc.

Also, they are working on a champleve enamel dial "to be released in 2024."

Champleve is using etching in the metal base of the dial to make carefully shaped little troughs to hold the enamel--allowing you to "paint" pictures or make colorful designs in the finished enamel dial. Should be cool.

I shared this pic on another thread. I think it photographs very realistically and this is very much the view you get.

Holy shit these dials are insane (in a good way). Could get lost staring into these, the depth is incredible.

These fume enamel dials are spectacular. The depth, the detail, like looking into the green sea.

Glad I got the blue first but there’s a strong want for the green. That’s a beautiful watch.

All 4 colors are are great looking, I saw them all in New York last October. No wrong choice. Tough to get another with the long wait list.

Which color has the highest contrast / best legibility in your opinion?

anoter independent I have started to look at is Kurono Tokyo. Their urushi dial seems quite awesome as well, although the size I think is bit too small at 37 with the large-ish bezel. But I still think overall Anordain dials are spectacular and a step above.

I have a Kurono Chronograph 1 Mk.2. Great piece!

I’ve also got a 2028 build slot for an Anordain!
