Encouragement on new WG bracelet
Bought a Pepsi meteorite and I’m gun-shy of putting it on for fear of those dreaded first scratches on the WG bracelet. My daily is a sub and I want to make this my new daily. But now that I have it and I see how fresh all the polished surfaces are… I need your encouragement! Tell me all the inevitable hairline scratches are no big deal. Or educate me otherwise!

I feel you!
I’ve had my BLRO meteorite for over a year now and I still baby it. I’m embarrassed to admit that. I usually baby a watch the first month of ownership but 15 months later and I still only wear the meteorite with a short sleeve shirt and won’t even play fetch with the dog with it on. It’s my first full WG bracelet. I didn’t have this issue with my WG Daytona on OF and oddly not even with my full YG bracelet Daytona. For some reason this one can’t get out of this stage. Ugh. Sorry, I’m no help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Scratches are part of the game if you truly want to enjoy your watch. If they really disturb you, it can be polished at your next service. Put it on and get out there!

Scratches can always be fixed. Don’t let that deter you. Enjoy the heck out of it!

Got hairlines more or less all over my WG Sub, totally unavoidable. Get in, the water is fine.

You think too much. Either you enjoy it and forget about scratches or ask yourself why you bought it in the first place. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I find the older I get the less I see. I beat my PM watches and can barely notice the scratches.

I wear the older WG 116719 daily, it has scratches but nothing major that a polish couldn’t fix when serviced.
I say wear it and enjoy!! |

Just wear it and enjoy. I wouldn't even bother fixing hairline scratches--they'll just come back and you've lost material with the polish.
Now dents or divots is a different story. Great watches either way--the meteorite BLRO is hopefully my next purchase. |

Sell it to someone who is going to enjoy the watch.
It’s not for you, every little blemish or speck of dust will make you unhappy. Not worth it.

These things cannot be fixed or replaced. Pack away and never speak of this again.

Hmm I tend to disagree. I think it does take some time and experience to get to the state of mind where you don’t care.

I definitely won’t be selling it but I appreciate the post. I daily’ed a YG DD then DJ41 then a 41sub, they all have expected wear and it doesn’t bother me at all. Those dings are my adventures and my watches store them for me. As for the Pepsi, this was more of a light hearted “dang, those center links really are polished!” poke of fun. Cheers friend! The PCLs on the WG oyster bracelet are beautiful. They won't be pristine forever. Until you ask the RSC to lightly polish them back...
