Rolex would have planned this for years, I'm sure they'll try and produce a few more watches a year but I doubt that was their main goal.
Sometimes it just becomes cheaper to build new facilities than try and maintain older buildings , they'll be looking towards the next 50 years rather than to meet current demands and hype

As mentioned - too late for that now .. The demand is declining with each passing month .. Also, that factory building looks completely out of the place .. Don't think cantonal authorities will allow that crap in a such harmonic environment

I would prefer they not up production, but rather focus on servicing / spare parts / making watches easily serviceable (within reason) for 50 years (or more).
