Interesting! So in your view I should change the sub to Pepsi jubilee? That is the way I was leaning as fair bit less financially than panda and a better all rounder and a splash of colour etc

Yes and get the fabled 2018 Mark 1 bezel .. there’s one or a thousand threads on it is it isn’t Mark1 or an internet fable ..

Keep the sub, it goes with a white shirt and jeans, a t-shirt and shorts as well as with a suit. You need an everyday watch...
the pepsi on the jubilee is much flashier, all the waiters and people stare at my wrist if I wear it out to eat or to the mall, it attracts alot of attention.
And finally the panda Daytona is wonderful, but I am not sure where you live, but I wear my 11652 panna like once every month, it's not an everyday watch... unless you take the elevator to the garage drive to work and park in the building and max go to eat downstairs in Dubai, Manhattan or Singapore... the world has changed and it's way too expensive to wear walking around town...
I think you're definitely on the right track... power to you and good luck... but imho keep the sub wear it daily and get a second watch, like the Daytona to wear for on weekends and during the holidays...
my 2 cents on the subject, I hope I could give you a concise and objective answer.
All the best of luck !!!!
Very interesting perspective. I went from a Sub to a BLNR on oyster and most people didn't even recognize I got a new watch. I wonder if it was on jubliee there would be more attention.

My personal opinion is Pepsi > Panda, but that’s just me. GMT is somewhat similar in some aspects to the sub (except the complications of cos) so yeah, wouldn’t keep the sub

I wear the ceramic Pepsi more during the week and rotate with my other date models.
The 116500 is mostly weekend duty or also seems required when watching an F1 or 24hr race at a watch party.

The answer is what you like more combined with what the financial consideration.

I am negative towards the Pepsi (but a fan of the 116710LN), therefore it's difficult for me to get onboard with the sentiment that the Pepsi > Daytona. I am also biased towards the Daytona, esp. a white 116500 which in my opinion is the best looking SS Daytona.

This is why, IMO, one should buy the watch for themselves, not others' opinions, especially if it's being purchased with one's own money. Not saying this is your intent, though, as you are just making a statement. I am certain we can all agree that it is common for the population, to become attentive to others' timepieces.

I am very happy nobody notices my watch. If it's a watch fanatic, I'm happy to talk watches all day but if it's someone who is after hype and exclusivity no thanks.

I was just at a conference in New Orleans, and someone had a 5 digit Pepsi and we spoke about watches for 10 minutes. It was great.

Wanted to ensure you realized my comment wasn't a dig, which seems to be the case.

I agree - it's awesome how watches can bring people together. I particularly enjoy hearing other's stories around how the ended up with a favorite/grail, or where/how they were able to purchase.

Would people rather a Pepsi jubilee as a one and done or add the Mint Green DJ41 jubilee alongside my sub?

I think the Pepsi is a nicer piece and has a sporty and dressy kind of look wrapped up in one and a bit more of a special piece

Hopefully if I changed to Pepsi I wouldn’t miss the glidelock too much either

Have you tried a Pepsi on ?
In all seriousness if you are contemplating this see one first hand - first ..
I find it a very underwhelming watch, I love the ethos, the back story, the hype, the whole Pan Am .. it’s great …
But the bezel of the one I had was dull to the point I found it not worth getting ..
Up to you, your money, your choice .. at least try before you buy ..

Oh no I didn't think it was a dig at all. Written communication is full of these miscommunications :)

This guy I spoke to had his 5 digit pepsi for over 25 years. It's one of my favorite kind of watch stories "I bought it when I was young and it aged with me."

Interesting you mention this, I think a lot are enhanced shall we say from instagram type filters! I have seen a few for sale where the seller clearly hasn’t filtered/ edited the images and the watch does look a lot lot duller, almost to the point where you wouldn’t really give it a second glance.

Did you sell your Pepsi in the end then?

I think for me the Daytona panda has been my ultimate always but it’s still a double retail watch to have to justify etc and more pricey than Pepsi

The batgirl colours are nice the blue is genuinely quite a bright blue even in person

Have all three, though black Daytona. Black Daytona much less flashy than white and by far the most comfortable of the three watches. Even allowing for the fact my Pepsi is on jubilee.

Good luck!
