Worrying about this sounds like some socialist nonsense (limited private ownership).

What’s next saying “someone doesn’t need that double cheeseburger when a single will suffice?”

My watches are the last rations on a sinking ship!
Greedy?! It's my money and me buying a watch isn't keeping anyone from buying one or doing harm to others.
Odd question but I guess it hit a nerve ...4 pages and going.

FYI - I just bought another G-Shock at Costco (crazy sale) am I greedy?

I wouldn't say greedy.

I think a better word is obsessed...or addicted.

You mention things 'making sense.' Well, let's face it, if we're drawing the line in the sand there, then a lot- maybe all- of the luxury goods market in general is in that same boat.

Only if you’re taking away from your other responsibilities, especially if they depend on you.

This. It's always a personal choice how one spends their income. I never thought I'd be fortunate enough to own the collection I have, but I've done it while maintaining financial balance and responsibilities.

Yes a lot of defensive posts! Greedy, excessive, indulgent, addictive, frivolous.. many words could have been used - it's not so serious

Perhaps another title could have been "enable me/help justify"

Is it greedy having more than one rolex?

Greedy? “ No”. Self indulgent? “Maybe”. I can’t quite decide. I’ve been collecting watches for years, and eventually decided I wanted some really nice Rolexes, and now I have a few. Should I be donating the money I spend on watches to the needy? Probably. I guess I’ll find out on “Judgement Day.”

I think the word "greedy" implies some level of maliciousness; ie, if I get two of this then I'm depriving someone else.

So as far as a rolex...probably not, unless you're a flipper :p

This is true, I think.

But there is something negative about our tendency to accumulate unnecessary things. I, for one, wish I needed less to be content.

The very fact that this is a question shows how much socialism has crept into western society. Succeeding based on merit is being replaced with “you have it so I deserve it”
Glad I have no kids.

I can't say for sure but owning multiple Rolex watches can be viewed from different perspectives, and whether it's seen as greedy largely depends on factors like personal priorities and financial situation.

I’m thinking the same thing.

But I have two kids. Probably a moot point since they’re adults living on their own now…

It's your money. It's a watch. It isn't the last bite of food on the raft......
