12 series

Yesterday i got my first 12 series daytona, i know everybody goes nuts for the pikachu and the ghost … but my own personal favourite of the new lineup is the black dail with silver sub dials on oysterfelx…

I put my name down at my ad for this ref somewhere in januari of this year

And yesterday i got to pick it up, al my previous daytona’s were on bracelet ( timeless to me ) i never even looked at oysterflex before…

Well i feel like new world opened up to me, that watch wears so smooth and the easy adjustment with the glide lock on it is just wonderfull.
Glad i did not sleep on this ref and followed my instincts to try something new.

Congratulations on your new Rolex watch but not a fan of the silly nicknames now attached to most all Rolex watches.

Correct, quirky catchy names are easy to remember, knowing 5 or 6 digit numbers to so many models is not the easiest, fine some will argue they do know them some will argue you can look them up .. Baby Lemans .. right, not heard that one yet ..
Ghost too, bit daft really, but it’s easy for some people …
Either way, you have a lovely watch which looks so good on, and the few tweaks makes it perfect Daytona for me .. enjoy it, whatever you want to call it ..
baby Lemans …

But the reference numbers have changed very very very little over the past 50 odd years except for adding a digit at beginning of reference, or now changed from a one to a two at beginning. I am almost 80 years old and can use and remember most of the reference numbers, but trouble today most are two lazy to look them up and use them.

I concur Padi ,i gladly could do without all the nicknames people are just to lazy to look it up or are too focussed on the hype names…
Just be glad you speak the Rolex language, know what the differences are between a 11 series and a 12 series know what LN BLRO or VTNR stand for and know what the numbers 9 at the end of the model number signifies white gold, it takes some time to master and not everybody is willing to apply some effort
