Hacking on 1970 GMT?

Hello forum,

I recently acquired a Rolex GMT two tone root beer with serial number beginning with 273. Which I believe dates to 1970.

When I pull the crown out, the movement hacks. The movement says 1570. Is it correct for this watch to hack?

I have heard different opinions on when Rolex introduced hacking movements. Generally early 70 is what I have read.

Apologies if this subject has been discussed and I missed a prior thread.

According to my records, 2.73M is early in the hacking range. It probably has a 70 or 71 case-back, but I guess you would know that.
