So what should my next (and possibly my last) Rolex be?
So I have a beautiful DayJust that I love. However this compulsion to get another can not be ignored.
I'm new to Rolex and find it very confusing how one Submariner can look just like another but somehow be different. I've a limited budget and I'm at the mercy of the AD and have a limited budget. I'm leaning towards the Submariner, If I can afford it the Batman model. The other choices are the Explorer 2 with a white dial and possibly a GMT but I'm not really loving or understanding what the numbers on that Dial mean. My budget is roughly 15k - 18k Any advice would be appreciated |

By DayJust I am guessing you mean Datejust? I am never 100% sure with all these weird nicknames thrown around, maybe the DayJust is some random vintage I don't know about. But I am going to guess Datejust.
I guess it depends on which Datejust you have. If you have the typical fluted/jubilee, I think a Sub would make the ultimate duo and you can stop there. If it's the more restrained oyster/domed version, I may go BLNR jubilee to add some color/flair. I think you are on the right track having those as your top two. |

I’d spend some time learning about the watches first and figuring out what you want rather than asking a bunch of strangers who will all just name their own favourite watch.

If its going to truly be your “last”, don’t worry about a few thousand and get exactly what u love. Only YOU know that answer

I would go for BLNR. It is in a way more advanced Sub and one of the best travel watches.

BLNR all day from your options. Way less common then a sub.

If you can stretch to the BLNR then I’d recommend that

Spend time learning about the watches, and one will stand out to you as the one to get. Plus, you'll gain some really interesting knowledge. Here's some great starting points: https://youtu.be/6RsIAPBCCWQ?si=-SSnmC-CiNnrmhIG https://youtu.be/P6HHBnxyY7E?si=qtl1WvPsLr8b4Z8K People will probably balk at me referencing these videos, however they're from a time when Hodinkee was a very different entity to today. If anyone has any other resources please feel free to add, I'm all for learning some more myself! |

There’s no such thing as a ‘last/final’ Rolex. Jokes aside, I think a 126713GRNR or a BLRO would complement your DJ. If you want something utilitarian then the Explorer 2 would be an excellent choice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Go try them all on and see which one you prefer for fit and looks. You can never go wrong with a SS Submariner. I prefer the No Date models for the balance of the dial. The bracelet alone is worth the price of admission.

Best learn the features of the watch and the numbers, not sure what you meant by not understanding them, before splashing cash.

There’s no rush to acquire, definitely not now with the market moderating. Try on different models, do your research into the ones you find interesting, grow your knowledge and then when the time is right the hunt will be all the more satisfying. Good luck to you.

If you are undecided and on a limited budget save you money until you know what you actually want.

Take your time and research/learn the watches. No rush; it's a lot of money and you'll be happier in the long run by getting it right. Other peoples' opinions are fine but go only with what you like and what sings to you.

Sub. You can shut it down with the resulting pair you'll have and live very happily ever after.
Odds are you won't (especially if you hang around here lol), but you could. Theoretically. |

Take a look at the batgirl. Solid choice with a super comfortable bracelet.

Everyone has different preferences. I always had a sub or seadweller until recently, and as soon as I didn’t have one I knew it was a mistake. I now have one back in my collection and can’t see a time when I won’t again.
They are such a great watch. I’d try on both 5 and 6 digit variants as most people have a preference. |
