Caveat, sometimes the actual DJ’s don’t look like a DJ. |

I think you're right.
While the D/D is also an icon, there are far fewer of them out there. The two tone DJ is the timeless, best looking Rolex out there. |

Iconic is a subjective and overused word, but if in this case iconic = common, then I would say yes.

The Rolex airport (and Wimbledon) clocks don't have date windows. At least the ones I've seen.

I'm not sure that the general public (non WIS types like here) can spot the difference between a DD and DJ - I can't from 5+ feet away with just a quick look (a good 5 - 10 sec look maybe). That said, either 1 is the most easily and quickly recognized "Rolex" watch to the public. In YG certainly either get instant recognition, and in TT pretty much the same in my view. I see significantly more DD & DJ (YG and TT) at our yacht club than I do subs (or any other rolex). There are a couple of subs I do spot on occasion, as well as 1 TT daytona 116523).

DJ is THE iconic Rolex. Especially on Jubilee, fluted, and cyclops.

No other watch, let alone other Rolex, is as iconic as the Datejust.
For everyone mentioning the Day-Date, for the average onlooker they're indistinguishable. |

Ask anyone not on this board and everyone would say it’s a DJ.

I agree with this. Two tone datejusts were ubiquitous when many were growing up. Since it is also the best seller (and, therefore, one can argue most popular), it would seem that the DJ would qualify as most iconic.

TT DJ are awesome. Growing up, I would see these on the wrists of older family members and family friends and to me it was The Rolex.
