Incoming 126618lb. What to do with 116613lb??

Hi! I’ve got a small dilemma. My AD offered me a 126618lb and I jumped on it. Ever since I got my 116655 a few years ago - I have been obsessed with gold Rolexes. Steel doesn’t quite feel as special to me anymore. Now that I have the full gold lb - I’m not sure if I should sell the 116613lb.

The 116613lb has been my travel watch for a while. I wear it with everything on vacation and especially in the pool. I don’t feel as comfortable wearing the 126618lb as freely - but it’s great for date night or something that doesn’t involve a lot of activity.

So my question is - do I keep the two tone or move it on? I hear it’s a very different watch than the 126618lb - but seem so very similar also. Almost feels redundant.

So far I have the 116655, 126618lb, and the 116613lb. I want to add the olive dial daydate in rose gold and a gold Daytona on oyster flex in the future.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Personally, I'd ditch the 116613. I've had mixed metal watches before, and when I got the closest version (DJ41 to DD40 and TT Daytona to 116508) I never wore the lesser of the two. If it has sentimental value and you'd like to gift it to someone close if you don't need the money, that's always a cool thing to do as well.

I’d give it some time. It sounds like the TT works well for you and it might be a nice change of pace.

I’ve heard others here state that the 613 is actually the “louder” looking reference

Thank you for your response! I was on the fence about it. It was one thing my wife commented on when we went on our first date. I feel a little guilty getting rid of it because of that. I do feel like it’ll get the wrist time - but it’s def the lesser of the two. Maybe it’s a little bit freeing to not worry about it as much. Although - I can see the thought process for it being a louder watch.

Thank you! I think I will just hold on to it a little longer. I feel like my collection needs a gmt. The new two tone gmt would be cool on the jubilee as I don’t have a jubilee bracelet watch. Still pondering. Thank you again!

I would hold it a bit. Sounds like you’re comfortable with it and use it in many situations that the new reference wouldn’t necessarily be used in. If it feels redundant later then move it, but I would see how the routine plays out a bit first.

Sell it and save for the DD. The 116655 can definitely be the travel and pool watch

I'd probably keep the 116613LB for a while. It's rugged and fun to wear daily or on rotation. You can be more carefree with a SS case.

I'd reserve the 126618LB for the weekends, special nights out etc. I'd only sell the 13LB if I quit wearing it for a long time, enjoying the 18LB instead. In other words, if the full gold has replaced the TT in terms of wearing habit, then I'd let the TT go. If they complement each other, then keep the SS/YG.

Keep it. As you said, there are some situations where you're more comfortable with that one. Unless you need the money for something, just keep it.

Yeah I'd keep it for now until you get a call for one of your other watches, then I'd move on.

I agree with those who say "keep it".

My take is this:
If you sell 613...
What if a year with the 618 bores you?
Then you'd move it on and miss 613...

I would've sold you my like new 126618LB for under retail lol but in all seriousness enjoy the watch it's a great piece you're gonna love it that sunburst blue dial looks incredible in the light

Keep the TT for the time being. You may find it, in the long run, to be a more wearable in more situations, as well as useful watch than the full gold. If so, then all you have to do is move one watch.

Agree I don't think you'll find many reasons to wear the TT once you have the full YG
