Do you think anyone would notice if I sneaked this red-headed step child in?

Even though it’s quite a bit older, I’ll chime in.
I’m luvin it, it’s a very nice piece and totally wearable even now after 54 years.

Hi all,
I’m a long time lurker on this forum but only just now came across this topic. I have had an OQ 17014 since 2018.
It had been for sale for a while at shucktheoyster but remained unsold due to too slow price adjustments. Currently I’m getting decent offers but not the hyped prices of 2 years ago >8,5k, which would have been the only reason to let go in the first place as I have a dream of getting a JLC and this sale would facilitate realising it. So for now I’m keeping the watch. I am still in doubt if I keep the watch as it is, or do I commit sacrilege and have a RSC dial change to a new Blue dial performed. What’s stopping me for now is that RSC only wants to do it together with a full service, which is not necessary according to my own watchmaker. Any hot takes or thoughts here?

Saw some threads with a few UK repairers but I am in Asia, doubt I want to have it sent to UK and back which would cost about the same with courier and possibly being taxed at the customs.

This is what I did about 2.5 years ago:

Complete overhaul - $850
- Refinish Bracelet
- Replace pins and tubes for case
- Refinish Case
Replace Crown/Gasket - $46
Replace Crystal/Gasket - $133.40
Replace Electronic Module - $650

The only untouched item was the motor.

was about $1700 & they told me the motor i think was 6-900 if memory serves me right, but wasnt needed. So I think 2500-3k at rsc for all this and a motor is the going rate ATM. These parts are not easy to get, it would be interesting if there is a spcialist with some stockpile of parts for these OQ's, could be a good idea for a watch maker I think.

Not at all. There are a lot of them on the market, mostly because their prices rose ridiculously high during the pandemic price race, so in the same time the demand dropped to almost zero.
