Question for AC owners

I’ll be traveling from East Coast to West on Tuesday and will be bringing my 5396 with me. I understand the time period not to adjust the calendar and moon phase, but what about turning the hour hand counterclockwise 3 hours?
From my reading of the manual this should be ok if you are not crossing midnight, but would appreciate any advice on this. Thanks!

Regardless what the manual says, I never turn my watch anticlockwise. Whether PC or AC (easier since no leap year), I will always adjust forward only. It's probably irrational/paranoid of me but my Pateks are fine where movement is concerned.

Thank you all for the responses. I will go ahead and adjust by turning back 3 hours when I arrive. I’ll be wearing a GMT enroute so I don’t need to worry about accurate time until I get to my destination.

It's probably paranoia, but I never move the hands counterclockwise. If you're wearing a GMT, I assume the AC will be in a travel case. I'd pull the crown and then move the hands forward to set when I wear it upon arrival to destination.

Thanks for this. Yes it will be in a travel case. Never thought about pulling the crown!

Good question! Turning the hour hand counterclockwise by 3 hours should be fine as long as you're not near the midnight period where the date change happens. Just avoid adjusting the calendar and moon phase between 8 PM and 4 AM. Safe travels and enjoy your trip with the 5396!
