OP, I sincerely apologize for my post in your thread. It appears I made an accidental post in the wrong one, and unfortunately, I can no longer edit or delete it.

Beautiful collection you have there.

Mixed it up a little bit since September '23 and instead of starting a new thread each time I thought it'd be more interesting to take TRF along my watch collecting journey.

Since my last SOTC photo I've decided to let go of the Oysterflex Yacht Master as well as the JC DeepSea. A much easier decision than anticipated even without me wearing them very often...

Recently added a Cartier Santos Dumont novelty from 2023 which I immediately fell in love with while travelling in Amsterdam earlier this year. Instead of making an impulsive purchase I immediately went into negotiation with my SA and was able to pair it with a 126500ln white dial.

I understand that for most of our TRF family bundling watches with jewelry and/or other brands is frowned upon but if you can play the game and use these pieces the outcome can be advantageous

Pretty content with my collection at the moment but if I were to add a Rolex it would be a 116506 Platinum Daytona w/ Baguette hour markers. Beautiful piece, i prefer the ice blue monotone dial of the predecessor.

Still interested in the 116508 (John Mayor), but as a collector that prides himself on paying retail the ask for this piece is much too high

Have yet to find a Patek Philipe AD that is interested in working with me but a 5180/1R-001 (Skeleton Calatrava) is still at the top of my list and I'm hoping such a purchase would eventually lead me to a 5990 Stainless Steel Travel Time

All opinions are welcome :)

Enjoy

Great collection, love the DD! The Submariner, blue or white dial Daytona, BLNR, QP AP and VC would also be keepers for me

Nice update. I really like the Cartier watches. I wish I had an AD close by as I would probably pick one of these up.

Beautiful collection! I especially like the Santos. I would consider adding an Omega Speedmaster. It is a classic and the sapphire sandwich is very comfortable on the wrist. Another add worth considering would be the Glashutte SeaQ.

Great collection, I have a few of the same. How often do you wear the no date sub / sub and the DSSD?

I daily wear the no date sub. Gym, beach, to take out the garbage and everything in-between

Sold the JC DSSD as it was much too big and the novelty had worn off. Was fun while it lasted but I didn't feel like it fit the aesthetic that I'm going for

The LV sub gets worn sparringly

The Cartier pieces are definitely 2 of my favourites in the collection as they are very unique and eye catching

The Santos Dumont is so nice in person. Cartier releases some of the most beautiful pieces at W&W every year but they often get overlooked by the Rolex hype

The Speedmaster is a favourite for a lot of collectors but it personally does nothing for me. I respect the story and the history but at 42mm its a little bigger on the wrist than I would like and feels a little too "tooly" for my aesthetic if that makes sense

I'll take a look at a Glashutte SeaQ i don't believe i've seen one before

Hopefully planning to keep and enjoy them all for awhile!

The DD is the perfect piece for special occasions
The ND Submariner gets worn daily to the gym etc etc
The 116509 makes for a great piece to wear when my brother sports his 116508 (both John Mayor)
BLNR is fun when travelling in Europe
AP Perpetual Calendar is an interesting conversation piece when worn approaching a full moon
The VC 1921 Historique is a classy piece that flies under the radar

I love them all

Your collection sounds fantastic! Adding an Oyster Perpetual 41mm with a yellow dial would be a vibrant choice. Given the market price, patience might be wise. If you're considering diversifying, maybe look into a classic dress watch like a Patek Philippe Calatrava or something sporty yet refined like a Tudor Black Bay. Your collection seems well-rounded, so go with what excites you the most!

Agreed in terms of the Oyster Perpetual 41mm....heck I'd might even consider the 36mm to be honest.

Was hoping to one day achieve the Patek Philipe Calatrava Skeleton as I adore that bracelet paired with the engraved skeleton and micro rotor.

I don't believe a Tudor Black Bay would be nice but I don't believe it would get any wrist time with me wearing my ND Sub daily

Thank you for your suggestions
