My AD offered me both the black and white 126500LN. I chose black. Your anecdotal experience does not mean fact.

You seem to have a problem with me, constantly criticizing every post I make here, on Instagram, and on Reddit. Just stop the negativity. You sound like a grumpy person obsessed with your belief that the 116500 white and 126500 black combo is the best, and everything else is worthless. This isn’t Reddit. Please stop the hateful comments and consider finding another hobby or a girlfriend.

Resellers liked it a lot, but they can't sell it as well as the 116500.

Needless to insist and manipulate the poll, the new Daytona panda is a bad copy of the original. Enthusiasts were very disappointed with the color choices and copied dials. Those who created online surveys like this one had to admit that the discontinued model was a success, while the new 12 was a bit of a disappointment, in fact on the secondary market they are cheaper than the old model. If and when the dial is replaced, it will become a masterpiece.

Drivel.

Literally every single point you made is wrong, is this a troll post or what?

I always love this picture, and especially the nonsensical words!

That statement from Rolex there would all be fine and perfectly acceptable (believable even!) IF it was standard across the entire 11 series Daytona range. But more than half the different 11 series variants had symmetrical lugs!

So on the SS, YG and TT versions on the bracelet, Rolex would have you believe they created "aesthetic balance" by using asymmetrical lugs...., which means that by their own measure they apparently wilfully created an aesthetic IMBALANCE on all the WG, RG and Pt models on the bracelet and all OF versions by using symmetrical lugs?!

Yeah.... that makes PERFECT sense.

Exactly what would make the 116500 a collectable in the future, and the white Panda version of the 116500 the most sought after modern Daytona model. Add 7 years restricted production by Rolex to create hype since the introduction of the ceranic Daytona in 2016, and limited supply for two years of the 7.

The detailing on the 116500 case must have taken a lot of work.

And given the "two years of low production" out of the seven years of production, the 116500 will become rarer and rarer in the future.

It is also important to note that this is the first Daytona ever to have a ceramic bezel.

The 116500 is the first stainless steel model to get a ceramic bezel c. 2016. Believe a RG Daytona was first fitted with the ceramic bezel in 2011.

Thanks for letting me know about the omission in the description! The point about it being in stainless steel is paramount.

Maybe..... if that's an important factor for people.

Personally speaking, rarity/collectability/future value, etc, isn't a factor I ever think about, so for me I just prefer the aesthetics of the 12 series, but everyone's different.

It's a double win if you like the aesthetics, and can have a chance at a reference that may hold value because of limited years of production and special features that Rolex actually took the time to write a carefully thought of statement to describe it's design. Rolex doesn't do that often. People come up with stories and descriptions from their imagination to hype up collectable references, this 116500 has an actual statement from Rolex. I'm going for a black dial 126500 because I like the aesthetics of the black dial only vs the black dial 116500. This will never have a chance of being a collectable or a special watch because it has 10-20 years of production ahead of it , but still I'm going for it.

The truth hurts. It's a bad copy of the original, that's the problem. Half a meter away, you don't know which of the two is the same.

Correct me if I am wrong but I think this picture is the back of a 116520 and this might come from the time they were no RG, no WG no PT - only SS 116520, TT 116523 and YG 116528.

The launch of the 116500 was kind of a easy launch for Rolex as it shares so many parts with the previous generation (same case, same movement, same bracelet, same caseback, same everything - the only difference is the ceramic bezel and the dial). The 116500 sharing a lot of the old parts and the movement being there since 2000 it needed to be refreshed / upgraded.

Very useful comparison. It is clear that there is a problem to be solved. When the new Daytona 12 is replaced by dials, it will become a masterpiece. I am convinced that this change will happen very soon.

What do you mean "replaced by dials" ?

Are you saying when the 12 gets a dial refresh, it'll be a masterpiece?
