1984 Rolex 16758 GMT-Master 18K Yellow Gold Factory Super Jubilee Service Dial
For sale is a very good condition 40mm 18 karat yellow gold Rolex GMT-Master “Transitional”. The 16758 is an 8 million serial, circa 1984 production, and is not accompanied by box or papers.
The GMT Master features a brushed yellow gold case, which is accented by a bidirectional gold bezel that is set with a black GMT insert. The 16758 is mounted on a gold 8386 Super Jubilee bracelet, which is fully linked, containing 22 full size links, and will comfortably fit up to an 8 inch wrist. The 8386 bracelet features 47b stamped end links, which signifies it is correct for a GMT Master. The GMT features a black luminova service dial with applied polished gold luminous hour markers, gold luminova hands, and a magnified date window aperture at 3 o’clock. The movement used in the 16758 is the Rolex caliber 3075, which is running well, and also passed a pressure test prior to listing. Condition: The case has been preserved decently and contains even lugs. The Jubilee bracelet has stretch that is consistent with its age, but the coronet on the hidden clasp remains crisp and well defined. The only noteworthy imperfection is a small mark on the lacquer of the service dial below the 1 o’clock hour marker. Overall the GMT Master is in very good condition, and is well suited for daily wear, but would present beautifully after a professional refinish.
