Both the Steel Sky-Dweller and Yacht-Master 42 are incredible choices. Since you’ve tried on the Sky-Dweller and like its fit and look, it’s a solid option. The Yacht-Master 42, with its unique bezel and OysterFlex bracelet, offers a blend of sporty and refined aesthetics. Given your preference for the 42mm size and previous experience with Rolex, you really can't go wrong either way.

I have tried both recently and I actually think the YM42 looks much bigger on the wrist - they are both 42s but the big dial and black bezel makes it look bigger. I was looking at SD on oyster vs YM42 (on oyster) and was very surprised that SD looked and felt better. It is thicker for sure, but that does not bother me.

I’ve been to numerous AD’s and have not been able to see a 42mm YM in the flesh. I’ve had all four steel SD’s on and like them a lot. But, it’s hard to compare when my total exposure to a 42YM has been limited to pictures and videos.
