Long purchase history. Submariner 116610. Sub 116613, Daytona 116515 RG on alligator. Yacht Master. 2 Hublot, a DJ diamond bezel for my wife. A few omegas. Various services over the years, watch bands, Yea, I had history. A good one.

And I’m sure I mentioned the Sky Dwellers along with the SS Daytonas. He saw I had the rose gold already.

He didn not say when to expect SS Daytonas…. But I was also not being pushy, or entitled, as some other Redditor here has suggested. I simply had a nice 14 year history at the store and my SA left. This guy was new to me and I’d never seen him around the store ever before. I knew most of the people there, not one is still there today.

Ouch, that’s a tuff one, you are certainly have a right to request a SS Daytona with that spend, and there are people on TRF who have received a SS Daytona allocation with far less spend. I’m a fan of Bucherer NY (Time Machine), but my SA was always fairly open with me that Pepsi and SS Daytona are almost unobtanium without serious spend. Small family owned ADs can work, but ONLY if you get in with the family members making the allocation decisions (like you have already done). I have plenty of stories from friends who once they got to know the family running the AD, the vault in the back opened up for SS Batman, Pepsi, Daytona, Patek watches, etc.

Best of luck to you!

That is a good spend. Maybe go and chat with a manager about where you stand because it’s been so long and your overall relationship dates pretty far back. Might as well find out sooner than later if you’re gonna get one or not since so many people you once knew have left including your SA.

I believe this is the issue. It's an unfortunate fact in the "Rolex AD game" that it doesn't matter how long or how big your purchase history is if nobody in the store knows you anymore due to staff turnover.

You're basically a stranger to them and, honestly, it makes sense for them to prioritize the clients they are already familiar with.

I experienced this first-hand when my main Rolex AD in San Francisco lost their Patek and Rolex licenses and are now shutting down. That's 20+ years and $400,000+ purchase history down the drain. Thankfully, I've been talking with the folks in the Tourneau boutique and another boutique in San Jose for awhile now so it wasn't a lost cause.

I was able to get a Submariner after only about 3 months of wait with zero purchase history but it still sucks that I am basically starting over.

Big cities are the toughest markets with so many super wealthy people shopping. In order to keep people dropping 200K or more annually, they have to give them the Nautilus's and Daytona's.

Completely understood you, just like the NY AD you never asked for an Explorer II and would assuredly have sold you one. Lots of people want a SS Daytona, no need to go on a self indulgent rampage when you’re rejected, just try to enjoy your Explorer II.

Wow, what a rollercoaster! Sounds like your patience and persistence finally paid off, even if it wasn't with your original AD. It’s frustrating when you feel like you're not being taken seriously, especially with the amount of business you've given them.
