I was just in Florence, lots of Rolex around (italians or higher end tourists !).

Took my gold Cartier Santos. Easy. I didn’t take but that one. Take one

So far I have seen everything from Rolex to RM on my trip. I am now in Ravello where there are a lot of Americans here and everyone seems to be wearing a Rolex. I am sure it’s Rome where you have to be on your guard. I am still disappointed that I could not buy the green lacquer Day Date that was right in the store in Capri…..

So now the follow up question is ‘what will you bring home with you?’

I picked up this Grand Seiko on my recent trip to Italy. VAT saved me some good money.

Just returned from Spain and Italy

Europe is way too crowded to take any jewelry of value! Crowds are pushy and aggressive. Didn’t see any street level pickpockets per se but why risk it. Apple Watch much better for this environment. Also Covid19 is back and affected several co-travelers. Have fun but protect yourself!

Just got back from Portofino and Tuscany. Took the BLNR - perfect for travel IMO. Never had a concern at any point on the trip. Enjoy. You made a good call!

I was there years ago...granted, wasnt a watch bloke then so plain arm..lol

I went to Bali maybe 4 or 5 years ago and had the BLNR...never had issues..
That being said, be mindful of surreoundings as anywhere you go

Leaving for Italy in a few weeks and more than likely just taking the trusty sub date. I only need one watch when I travel. Why burden myself with more paranoia?

Is that the Lemon trail (Path of the Lemons)?

There’s a fantastic restaurant Salvatore Ravello if you haven’t already found it.

Enjoy the trip

I've made this mistake before and I would constantly be worried about the watch I left behind hidden or stored.

If you call the places where you are staying and they offer a safety deposit box in the lobby, you'd be somewhat safer. I'd bring the DD.
I agree, bring only one, it’s much easier to manage a single watch. But really, to say a safe in a hotel room isn’t safe, that is a gross exaggeration. Everyone seems to parrot this notion, but where are the real statistics, not anecdotal incidents? That said, I’d take one watch and keep it on my wrist.

Lots of theft there. Be careful walking about. Was just abroad and the rental car company made me sign an agreement I couldn't even bring my car in to Italy. Beautiful collection.

Made it through without any incident at all. Duty free in Rome airport had lots to look at but nothing at all to buy. The SA said she would take a number and if you could come in 30 days you might get what’s on your interest list. So why not. I wore my DD most of the time but my GMT got some wrist time as well. Really was never nervous even at the crowded places. Felt no diff than NY except I had to walk the Spanish steps in Rome like 5 times in 3 days! Homeward bound now.

How DARE you travel with a GMT Master II - don't you know they're only supposed to stay at home while you cradle them in fear that someone might steal them if you leave the house wearing it?
