One thing we need to remember, Rolex seeks to support conservation and nature. With F1, how many private planes, big petrol-guzzling transports, attendee vehicles, Monaco yachts... F1 causes a truly massive carbon footprint. By adding more events over recent years, it's probably gotten a lot worse.
PS: At Las Vegas, for example, many private planes had to fly further due to congestion at the Vegas airfield.

There's always another country wanting to sign on, or Dictator(s) seeking validation of their regime thanks to the modern F1 Games. We live in interesting times my friend.

I agree, but I will miss seeing the Rolex signs around the track!

I imagine the cost/returns numbers weren't brilliant.

Well, Silverstone was an awesome race today.
Another factor that I don’t believe has been brought up in this thread is saturation. How many more years does Rolex need to put their logo on every turn? The F1 audience is generally always the same. Or they might have seen a pattern they didn’t like with newer fans to the sport …. Such as an increase in a younger, less affluent audience. Rolex piles so much money into environmental causes, anyone thinking this decision has nothing to do with that is absurd:

Corporations will do what they need to do to make an extra buck. I don't know if Rolex is honest or not in this regard to respecting the environment.

Net Zero will be great! Good to see all those private jets and yachts giving way to mass transit for all drivers, teams, FIA, etc.

But yeh I'd argue there are not many sports in the world that are as carbon-inefficient as F1 really, considering the amount of travel, machinery and material technology involved. Most sports just involve travelling on a much smaller scale and maybe a football and some kit haha |

Trying to compare Rolex, a known non-profit, charitable organisation that makes luxury wristwatches, that in fact, sees the vast majority of their profits go towards charitable causes around the world, to BP? BP? seriously? One of the filthiest, untrustworthy, damaging petroleum companies to ever exist? Cmon man. |

Saudi Aramco sponsors F1, so you know they truly care about Net Zero.

The funniest thing is, that CO2 does not cause any global warming, but helps the plants to grow higher :) Actually, what is really dangeroes is the dihydrogenmonoxid in the stratosphere, as it helps in the warmimg up the Earth. However the ultimate problem is the uncontrolled heating, which is caused by a binary, non-ethical, never elected thermo-nuclear weapon, the so called "sun".
So BAN dihydrogenmonoxid now, and forbid Sunday! Long live the darkness... in the "weak minds" :) [(C) Star Wars ;)] |
