Not only is it uncomfortable at the 41mm size but for some reason it's just dead looking even with the new "bluer" dial. I tried it on and it was heavy, bulky and looked like it had no life to it. Sure some pictures show glimpses of a better blue but those are just glimpses. After trying it on I realized the 5711 was just the better option between the two just wish they had a better more vibrant blue dial.

Enter the 5740g. I used to think it looked cluttered but it's just right, the blue dial on it is quite possibly the best that Patek has created. It looks amazing from almost all angles. It fits just right at the 40mm size and it is super comfy all around. Oh and yes it is an amazing complication inside of a nautilus! (Stating the obvious here lol)

So yes again, I have to eat my previous words and after having tried them both on, the 5740g is the clear winner between the two. Congrats on making the right decision between the two. I'm getting a 5740g for myself very soon and will share pics once it arrives.
I haven't tried the 5811g, but there is something really special about the 5740. My only gripe is the need to have it in the winder, though that's all PC's.

I could only make my decision when I tried both of the watches on. You really can’t decide by looking at photos! I am extremely pleased with my choice:)
Looking forward to pictures of your incoming 5740!

One solution to the winder is wear it often! If you are a few days out of sync you can simply wind it forward in a few seconds

Thank you man! This 5811 vs 5470 thread was more helpful than you know! Now it's on to a decision between a 5968a and a 5167r with Tiffany stamp. One or the other or get both. Decisions decisions lol. Not to mention the desire to get the 5270p with salmon dial as well. Maybe I should create a new thread for that?
