Thoughts on 50th Anniversary Sea-Dweller

As a former vintage Red Sub owner and someone that felt that the 40mm Daytona was far too dainty (and visually busy) on my wrist, this 43mm Red SD is true horological perfection for me.

This is my favorite watch of all time, with Rolex getting this design just right.

Have a nice weekend!

I own the SD43 and a Submariner ND. Best of both worlds for me as I have a 7.5-7.75 inch wrist and it gives me some variety. I have always thought of the SD43 as a large wristed persons Submariner.

agreed, it's a well proportion watch, miles better than the submariner imho.

Exactly how I’ve always looked at it.

Had the opportunity earlier this year to try on side by side an SD43 & a Sub at my AD (both new). The Sub was a non event in comparison, & the SD43 went straight to the top of my Rolex wishlist. Picked one up a few weeks later. Unbelievably happy with it.

My favourite SS Rolex and favourite diver. Will start wearing mine in a couple of months for my 50th b'day. Looking forward to it.

I love the sea-dweller. Such a great watch. A little too big and thick for my wrist, but a truly
stunning piece.

I love my SD, although it is a TT version, but it is just such a brilliant watch.

My question is should I get a SS version as well, hmm a conundrum to ponder over.

Great watch OP, wear in good health.

I really like mine. Bought new from AD a little over a year ago. Love the red SD on the dial and the heft on my wrist.

Such a great watch for someone looking for a slightly larger sub.

It’s an amazing reference, I’d have one but my wrist is too thin.
