116600 vs 116610LN

For those who’ve had both, can you share your thoughts? Which did you end up keeping? Were the lug differences that noticeable?

I’m considering trading my sub for the sea dweller. Thanks for your insight.

I went from a ND 11 series sub to the SD4K as I much preferred the fit due to the narrower lugs on the SD.

I’ve got small wrists (6.25”) and despite the
SD being thicker, I found it looked smaller on my wrist.

I wore my SD for 3 years straight and will probably add one back to my collection again sometime down the line.

I had the 126610LN, but quickly traded it in for the LV because it didn’t have enough contrast for me. I also have the 116610LV, the lug width theory is overblown once it is on your wrist. I love both, but I would say the 126610 wears more comfortable. I had the 116600 and the size is similar to the old 16600, but chunkier and top heavy. I also had the 126600 which I think wore better than the 116600 because the case and bracelet were wider and spread the weight out better on the wrist, but it was a little heavy for all day wear. It really depends on your wrist size, and and watch weight that you are comfortable wearing.

Have both and frankly they’re pretty much the same with the SD being chunkier.

116600 is a special watch. Once you’ve worn it, you’ll love it!

I owned a 126610LN and sold it for a 116610LN. Just always trepidatious of the grenade which is the guts of the new reference. I also couldn’t stand appearing to be on the lug bandwagon with people here as it’s very difficult to tell the difference between 116xxx and 126xxx profiles and plans unless side by side. Most people here, if they're being honest, would admit that they prefer the Hulk to every other submariner, yet it features a maxi case, so hypocrisy abounds.

Eventually, I sold that 116610LN and purchased a 116600 (SD4K) which in my opinion is the best of all worlds. Bulletproof movement. No, you don’t actually need 70 hr PR. Doesn’t wear top-heavy at all. in fact, if you remove the dive extension and add a half-link, it is more comfortable than the submariner (certainly smaller than 126610 with it’s large profile and prodigious clasp). Most prominently, It sports 4k foot depth capability which let’s face it, you’re probably gonna need at some point. All the cyclops-deplorables can rest easy as well because that feature is conspicuously absent. You actually have date capability without the magnification so it features “balance” which is important to aesthetically conscious folks. Additionally, it is not ubiquitous like the submariner is. I don’t necessarily see submariners everywhere “in wild” like is claimed here. But my guess is that you will probably never see a SD4K on someone else. Add in fully graduated bezel, SD writing on case-back and matte dial, limited 2.5 yr production and you have a winner.
