Tough decision that I could never make.
I’m at 12 and still want more.
Can never be a one watch guy.

I can never be a one watch guy. I would rather keep SS Daytona and add White Gold GMT.

Buy the pm Daytona and keep the 116520. After a year or so, decide which to sell. No regrets that way. Do not trade your 116520!

When I'm discussing my watch collection I'm not including the quartz watches that I own. I have 25 maybe 30 ranging from 10 to $15 Casio up to I suppose less than $100 for the most expensive one. if I'm going out to mow the grass and I'm going to wear a watch it's going to be the Casio. If I'm going to clean out the garage I'm going to wear a Casio. My suggestion for you would be to buy any watch that you wouldn't mind scuffing scratching denting dinging or whatever. If that be a tutor then so be it I really like tutors but I'm not sure I would want to subject that watch to the wear that I would subject my Casio to. Whatever you do enjoy.

Pretty much.

I have a lot of sentimental moments attached to my 116500.
So that's holding me back.

Fleeting thought. We both got our 116500 white dials around the same time from our respective ADs. I’m content at moment with the stainless steel.

Expand. You’ll regret selling your existing Daytona.

If you’re a one watch guy then I’d do the move to PM.

I'm nowhere close to a 1 watch person, but I would just look at the watches in person. The gold Daytona will be a lot heavier than the steel.

You might like it, but some people find an all gold watch less comfortable than a lighter model while others like the feel.

If you like the weight, then it's easy to add a smart watch or an another watch in steel or titanium or plastic (G shock) as an alternative when circumstances mandate. In this case, I'd just get the racing Daytona.

If the weight would take away from daily wearability, then I'd add a 2nd piece.

Keep the Zenith….. Unless you’re trading it towards the Le Mans!

It’s not a zenith.

Anyway. I’d upgrade to PM and keep one watch as i wouldnt need 2 white metal watches.

Couple of thoughts:

I have never regretted consolidating my collection into fewer, targeted “upgrades” so I say do it.

On the other hand, personally I think the steel Daytona is the best iteration of the Daytona, so also say do not do it.

Either way, you have a great watch collection, even if that’s a one watch collection.

I own four stainless steel Daytona, 1999, 2009 2023, & 2024. (Two black, and two white) I’ve never desired a white gold watch because it’s a softer metal. I do lust for a platinum Daytona.

Upgrade and make the trade.

You get to experience a new PM watch this way that you might not have otherwise.
Also you can easily go back to SS even if you miss it.

More time with different watches.

Life is about experiences.

There are two kinds of people in this world: one watch guys and multi-watch guys. The trick is to find out which one you are, and then be that person.

Sounds like you are a one watch guy.

Get the PM and wear it every day like it's stolen. PM looks better with wear and nothing beats a PM Daytona.

I had a similar predicament. I traded an 116500 white and 126710BLRO into an 116508 "pikachu." I didn't regret it until a few months later. I love the PM Daytona, but I miss the wearability of my old watches and enjoyed rotating between those two more than I do the single one usually.
Since, values have taken a hit, and I'm still holding onto it because I hate taking a loss that I will eventually have to take when I likely eventually move it on.
That said, if I never got rid of it, I would be okay. It's an awesome watch.

I think you'd enjoy being a two watch guy more than you would one single PM watch, but that's something you can likely only learn from experience.

EDIT: I just realized I had already replied to this thread!
