Is wearing a daily driver with a 3035 or 3075 movement a reasonable idea?

I'm thinking about getting a Rolex made in the 1980's and I've focused on the GMT Master 16750 (3075 movement).

I plan to get the watch serviced by an RSC after acquiring. After that is done, is a 30XX movement watch still a reasonable daily wear watch? Are they still able to maintain a daily -4/+6 rate? Is there any reason this is a bad idea?

My current Rolex watches (three in total) have the 31XX movement, which has been rock solid for me, but I'd like to consolidate my collection and go with one watch from the 1980's for daily wear. But I have reservations about a movement that was last manufactured in the 1980's.

I'm sure there plenty of people here who own a 3035 or 3075 movement who can shed light on my dilemma.

I would imagine ppl are just a little dumbfounded at the question… folks daily wear Rolex from the 50’s, so yeah, you’re good to go :)

Once it’s been serviced it’s as good as most other watches. These things are built to last when properly maintained so don’t stress

I wore my matte dial 16750 on and off basically as a daily fairly consistently from around the early 2000s up until around 2018 or so.

I never had any issues with the movement at all besides when I first acquired it. After I serviced it though it’s been fairly bulletproof. The only issue I had is that my 2 year old got ahold of it once and banged the lume out of the GMT hand which was fairly easily resolved.

I have worn one for at least 20 years. I wear it most of the time and every now-and-then I switch it out with one of my Submariners. My GMT 16750 has the matte dial and has been a great watch.

Have a 16750 (gloss dial) it gets a lot of wrist time. It’s my favorite, clean the gutters, mow the grass, do the dishes, currently running +2 spd.

I wear my 1601s from the 70s quite regularly. All of mine stay in the rotation of what I am wearing. I dont' usually decide until I get up in the morning. Then I grab one and go, no matter the age!
