Zurich DutyFree

Going in the fall and curious if anyone has had luck with stock at the duty-free? I know they have a Rolex duty-free store. Noticed they have Chopard as well. If I strike out at Rolex I might wander over there. The Alpine Eagle dial is pretty cool.

Zurich has 3 stores in one street, one store has a watch museum in the basement, very nice. You may have better chance in the Rolex -only boutique store at the end of street. You may consider Lucerne store as well. Enjoy the city. Gorgeous but expensive

Thanks. I stayed in Lucerne last time I was there & it is a gorgeous area. The only Rolex store I was curious about was the airport duty-free store. Anything in the city I figure will be just like everywhere else and probably zero chance. Thought inside airport at duty-free maybe I could stumble on a lucky find.

I am on a bit of a watch museum type vacation so good to hear about the basement museum.

Thanks. Figured it would be a long shot, but worth a walk through before I sit for 11 hours!

On my way to Zurich next week. Thanks for letting me know the situation at the airport.

I fitted on the other side of the Bucherer the new Breitling Avenger. But price way to high, some dealers provide -/-25% discount on Avengers (by only entering the door ;)

I was at Zurich airport 2 days ago… no stainless steel sports models apart from an explorer 36… display only.
Bit of a letdown to be honest.. my AD has a way better ”display only” selection to try on…

I was there back in April. Not much on display, & they wouldn’t sell me the SD43 they had when I asked.

Picked up one from my AD a few weeks later.

It is really strange, that Zurich airport AD is Bucherer, owned by Rolex… you would think they would have all models to see and try. I understand that they would have nothing for sale, but nothing to show?

So they had a new one in store and said no to selling it to you? Airport duty free is one spot I would have thought first come first serve would work. The mysteries of watch buying continues

I’ve been to Zurich Duty-Free, and while they do have a Rolex store, availability can be hit or miss. It’s worth checking out, but don’t get your hopes too high for popular models. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, definitely wander over to Chopard. The Alpine Eagle is a fantastic choice! Safe travels and happy hunting!
