Whether you think the blue bezel and all-red GMT hand are authentic, this is a looker!

a modder's wet dream. And I always find it amusing when cases have literally zero scratches and perfectly cut chamfers yet show a lot of wear between the lugs and the description it says "case shows very little signs of wear"

Nice chamfers! So the blueberry is making a return… I suppose it has been a few years now. Certainly all the debate about authenticity has blown over by now.

Cobbled that together but couldn’t get a period date wheel. Interesting.

That’s what I was getting at too. It’s nice to look at but I sure wouldn’t touch it.

I wonder how much filler rod was used to build those crown guards back up

It is amazing how many of the watch dealers have sold similar "blueberry" radial dial watches to this all most likely to be developed from parts, HQ militon previously sold a similar 1977 "blueberry" in 2020 for around 30k so certainly a jump up in price on this piece they are offering.

I'd love to see this in the Rolex catalogue from the mid 1970's, I suspect I will be dissapointed

I was thinking, if the watch is 47 years old and the insert doesn't have as much as a hairline scratch on it that it must be a service replacement

What about the perfect case but somehow got scratches over the model number and serial number between the lugs? I only see this on fake mid cases when trying to make it look old.

Blueberry, parts and aging conversations aside (haven't seen the ad to see if it is misrepresented) - that's a lovely looking thing!

The description is very vague and short giving only the most pertinent information

I can agree to some extent that it's a good looking watch and if this was an old Timex on EBay I wouldn't care, but it's not. It's a shagged out pile of old rolex parts that has been laser welded back to life, dolled up with some fake parts and offered to the general public for 59 500 USD by a reputable dealer. This kind of detracts from its visual appeal for me at least.

Couldn’t agree more. It might be appropriate to drop the term “reputable dealer” based on what they are offering

I can't disagree and the asking price seems mental... still love it... at multiples less money!
