YG 36mm is the correct choice here.

That 36mm would be the DD I would pick if I was getting one. Classic metal and size.

I would not buy a WG reference. A day-date should be flashy imo. If not, spend less and just get a Datejust. |

Between the two pictured, I would choose the 40. But as everyone here has said, make sure you try them on and see what looks good on you bc you’re the one that will be looking at it everyday. Also, great advice given to choose the metal and dial that are your #1 choices.

You shouldn't have to ask us which watch you want. Someone told me a long time ago a watch should sing to you. if its not clear to you which one os the right one, neither is the right one!

YG 36, but would prefer deconstructed Romans, or sticks.

I went with 36 DD YG people says it’s small, lol I’m 6’1 290 and if it worked for a guy the size of Tony Soprano I think I’m good Lol

Personally I like the WG variant between those.
However you’ve already said you like basically everything about the 36 YG variant better. Just go for the one you like and I don’t think you’ll regret it. Just don’t overthink it.

Buy what you want, not what a bunch of strangers on the Internet tell you to do.
For me, yellow gold is too flashy, too dated and did I mention it's too flashy? The 40 seems to fit you well.
