At the end of lap one, you hit the lap timer button (at 9 o'clock), one of the chrono hands stops, the other returns to zero and instantly restarts. Let's say the lap is 52 seconds, so the stopped hand records that.
At the end of lap two, you hit the lap timer button and it tells you that you have improved to 51 seconds, at which point that hand stops and the hand from lap 1 showing 52 seconds resets and starts again.
At the end of lap three, you hit the stop button, and it tells you that you have improved to 50 seconds whilst still showing you the 51 seconds from the previous lap.

Then hit the reset and you are back to zero.

I am not an expert on the MB&F Sequential, but I believe it is two entirely separate chronos with a "twinverter" button that starts one and stops the other simultaneously - so I think you could replicate sequential lap times albeit on two separate movements rather than on one movement (the AP).

It is fiendishly clever.
Got it now, thanks! Clever complication by AP and interesting to know how MB&F differs. Any plans to put it into actual usage (on the track?) or enjoy it for what it is?

That clearly explains why Concept are top notch and the price it commands.

Not much use for the feature these days now that I am too old for racing and the number of events where electronic aids are banned is minimal but I am just a huge fan of unusual highly complex movements. I believe it was a huge technical challenge for AP and delighted to have the privilege of owning one.

Forgive the crappy movement photo - I just haven’t found a way around the tiny photo size restrictions here.

Thanks, Conkers. I tried to like the spider man but didn’t find it quite to the level of the Black Panther, in my opinion.

Having studied both (although I own neither) I think I see where you are coming from.

Yup. What’s even more of a head scratcher is the fact that the spiderman doesn’t even have the AP logo.

Maybe they didn’t want to be associated with it.

I have a 7.5" wrist so can take on 47mm Panerai, RM011s, and Offshores reasonably well, but the 44mm concept was just incredibly awkward in terms of geometry. It's a very flat and thick case design which in my case created a major gap on my wrist with the rubber strap.

The new case design was essential for me to take the leap to the concept series. The 43mm case and the crystal are both curved, conforming incredibly well to my wrist, and making it super comfortable. Beyond that, the ability to change straps on the fly is amazing! My only wish was for the piece to have a ceramic bezel, as it still is 17.4mm tall (a little taller than a Lange Dopple, RM011, PAM 372)...

It's a fantastic canvas for future pieces - and am excited about what AP may do with complications, case materials, and other innovations in the concept line!

Anyone know the current retail on this piece?

It was about $195 a week ago.. I guess it’s a moving number based off a conversion.. I tried it on about two years ago and I could have sworn it was in the 130s but I must have been mistaken. I was a bit surprised to hear 19X,000 bc in my head it was closer to 130.. anyway, it’s awesome!

They are obviously completely different watches…what I have recently tried on both the concept and the ROO tourbillion chrono (rose gold version).

That ROO is one of the coolest watches I have ever had the pleasure to put on my wrist.

Point being, if the concept was 43 and wore like that watch, I think it would be an improvement.

Man I love all these concepts being posted. I need to hit the gym and do wrists and forearms exclusively for the next year to handle one haha

Some great buying opportunities out there for these complicated Offshores and Concepts. 26388PT at USD97k anyone? On C24 now. I would have snapped it up if I didn’t already have one! Just posted another on the daily wearing thread.

So many incomings difficult to keep track. I wear each one for less than a day before the next arrives! A bonanza!

Damn! If I didn't have a similar priced allocation incoming soon I'd snap this up. I like this much better than the 26288 version.

See my photos of my 26288 with a bezel upgrade to ceramic. I think it looks much sharper with the ceramic over the original carbon. I actually wear it a lot more than my 26388.

Apologies in advance if a silly question, but you can upgrade your bezel to ceramic? Is there some sort of process for this?

It was a bit more difficult in the old days when I first requested it but I twisted their arm. It is now a standard upgrade option on the Grand Prix models plus the tourbillon. Maybe others too but haven’t enquired on other ones.

Good to see you back here Conkers...

I know that about bezel because at some point they turned almost round and lost all the octagonal shape... but what about FC case? What if you crack it completly... FC Diver, Trulli, 44mm FC ROO... they don't do FC anymore and they also don't do 44mm and 42mm in ceramic to be replaced with...

I was told directly that they do have a stock of replacement cases and parts in CF and ceramic for older models when needed. Specifically for the 44mm offshore is what I inquired about
