Rolex dial codes

Hi there.

Does anybody know how to decipher Rolex dial codes?
I.e. with the attached image, can you tell the age and the material? Does ST mean the dial is made of steel?

Would appreciate any insight.

I thought dials were made of brass rather than steel?

Rolex dial codes

It hasn't been collected/published by any resource I've found using the plate codes.

The Rolex intranet has the database for service center watchmakers who work at ADs and RSCs. It is how they can use the Model Reference + accompanying four digit Dial Code and the dial plate code to determine a couple of things. First, the dial used for the original build. Second, if a requested dial swap is allowable for the reference.
