Superb! Please post pics when you get it. I love my Panda but the P....is really something else. There is no comparison, it blows away the Panda lol. I really would have been happy either way to get that watch too

Great story and nice to hear about ADs coming through for genuine watch collectors.

I have to say, I have had nothing but good experiences with my SA and all of the assistants are extremely friendly, polite and professional.

Enjoy that watch OP, great pick up!

Congratulations! It’s amazing to hear that an AD is prioritising based on the customer’s relationship with a watch / watches rather than just past spend… I know ADs are in a tricky position, but in this case they seem to be giving genuine thought to their allocations, and allocating to someone who will truly love the watch, rather than simply looking at the money.

Enjoy it, wear the hell out of it! Thanks for sharing!

Glad for the OP that he obtained a watch he was seeking, but the effusive thanks and gratitude to the AD, The SA, and seemingly to the cosmic forces that guide our destinies underscores how thoroughly f’d up is the distribution of Rolex watches, never mind the general obsession with luxury goods. It wasn’t the birth of a child, or a rescue from the brink, not a miracle cure from a lifetime of misery, it’s a watch.

Always one. I bet you are fun at parties.

End of the day there is nothing wrong with thanking someone that looked out for you. Given how hard any steel Daytona is to get, they could have allocated that watch to their highest spender and happily rank all their customers by spend that way thereby normal people like myself have no chance. She didn't so she deserves some praise. Maybe that isn't normal behaviour to you but hey manners don't cost nothing. It's the way I was brought up.

Rolex is at the end of the day classed as an luxury good and by all accounts we have some kind of obsession with the brand hence we are on this forum. If you don't then why sign up on here? Just to p1ss on someone's parade?

If you want to witness the birth of a child, discover the cosmic, rescue someone's life, find a miracle cure for cancer then you aren't going to find it here.

What a great surprise! The BLRO and Panda are the two most coveted stainless models. Congrats on being allocated both!

I thought it was going to be for the Yellow Gold Daytona (in that dial, won't say the nickname as everyone gets offended by it) on OF since I've recently put some pressure on my AD as I wanted it before XMAS before it goes through yet another high price rise as with the case of PM models at the moment.

When she said no, not that Daytona, it's the Steel model with white dial (she said it so casually as well, probably to hear my reaction lol) - well I literally went quiet on the phone.

This is the call I've dreamed of receiving ever since I started my relationship with my only AD 6 years ago. In that time, my SA has got me everything I've ever asked for (Pepsi for my 40th, Tiffany OP for the wife to name a few) and never ever put pressure on me to buy jewellery or offered me watches that I felt I had to buy. She literally is one of a kind. A very humble woman without an ounce of ego about her. I know we will remain friends if she decides to leave one day. She gave me such a big hug and was just so genuinely happy for me when she saw me.

There are a lot of heavy hitters I know personally at this same AD that have spent way way over 6 figures (I am NOWHERE near that - not even close) and have never had the call for this so I feel very privileged that I was chosen for allocation. I'm just a normal guy, not any VVIP let alone VIP. Just feel like I don't deserve the call so just feel very lucky just buzzing, no other word for it.

I also got a nice gift, a Rolex wash bag

Anyway enough talk, enjoy your Sunday guys and the pics. I've gone a bit overboard
I must say, your maturity comes through in your appreciation of your white dial watch with one of the most famous names in all of watch history, "Daytona". Every time I hear someone use the P nickname for such a distinguished and famous watch as Daytona, it sounds, well, silly to be polite...Congratulations to you for such a great pickup, sounds like your good Karma!!! Luck and Karma will always trump VIP!!!

A response as measured as this shows why YOU were allocated that coveted piece OP. Well done...enjoy the watch and ignore the negativity. There will always be some...

Honestly I don't mind nicknames considering P is one of the less offensive ones but thanks all the same buddy.

Congrats OP, enjoy your new watch!
And yes I believe in what Omar says too. It’s not all about the spend but whether or not you connect with the right SA and/or principal at an AD.

I guess I’m confused by the nickname (John Mayer I’m assuming) being offensive. Can someone enlighten me?

Also, CONGRATS!
