This has happened to me more than once as I split time between homes. On both occasions my AD simply took a payment over the phone and held the watch until I picked it up. One occasion was several weeks. Not sure why they could not do this for you.

Congrats on your new Panda, Op, if you really want the Polar ,ask the SA to speak to manager explain your situation and ask him to hold the Polar until Monday. Remember the manager does the allocations and has the power to anything he or she sees fit. Offer a deposit which I’m sure he/she will decline. Because of WOS policy. You have waited and we all have a life to live and responsibilities.
WOS does not care about their customers but there is always that exception. Best of luck with whatever you decide..if it doesn’t work out at least you tried. |

This really seems like an arbitrary policy that can only be a huge turn off to a busy consumer.
I have had an AD tell me this policy only applies to new Rolexes, not CPO or any other watch brands sold in the store. What? Why do dogs lick their balls?

OP-
Assuming they are a jewelry store, you should go to their website and find some nice , expensive, diamond earrings. Call them up, say you want to purchase them now and offer to give your card over the phone. Tell them you will pick them up with ID and the credit card used at the end of the week. I guarantee you they will be OK with it. Right before giving them the last 3 digits of your card , simply say… “Shoot, I forgot you don’t allow payment over the phone, I remember that policy from when I tried to buy a watch here” |

Maybe the AD doesn't think that you were serious about buying? What ever the reason the watch is wanted by many, if you cannot get there someone else will.

That’s pretty ridiculous. I agree.
I had a similar circumstance when I got the call for my BLNR. But they allowed me to pay over the phone and then I came in a few days later and picked it up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If you wired in the dough think they would hold the watch.

That's incredibly annoying. My local AD gave me a call about a piece I wanted and I already knew that I'd be out of the country when it arrived. He held it for me even through a flight cancellation.
I'm sorry you had to go through that. |

Incredibly lame from the AD. End of the day it's not an in-demand watch and you would think in current climate, most ADs would appreciate the sale.
Forget about them and enjoy your Panda! |

Why is this an issue? Because Watches of Switzerland expects their potential customers to sit at their homes indefinitely waiting for a call. They are so delusional and have become so accustomed with people begging that they think everyone worthy of the watches they are selling must drop everything, including time with family and fly back from wherever they’re soaking up the sun to pick up a watch. As suggested by my original post, I’m not upset that they refused to wait until Monday. I’m not upset that they didn’t allow me to put the watch on my card and hold it there, I’m simply bothered because these fools expect people to feel as if though they have just won the lottery. Only someone with half of a brain would play by their rules. I’m not new to this and didn’t come across Rolex during the hype. Maybe that’s what they’re used to! It’s Northern NJ - Lots of money and lots of current and future customers. Luckily for me, I won’t be one of them.

Watches of Switzerland seems to have some of the most absurd policies. Customer service, especially with Rolex items, is not their priority.
I tried calling a WoS location to see if they had a particular exhibition model in store for me to try, before taking the trip over. The person on the phone insisted that it was "Rolex official policy" that they cannot tell you what *exhibition* models they have on display. I asked them to clarify; is this WoS policy or Rolex policy? He clarified it was Rolex policy. I then told him I just spoke to 3 different Bucherer boutiques who all answered questions on the phone about what exhibition models they had on display. When I asked him if he knows who owns Bucherer, there was a long a pause and then a rather deflated "...Rolex..." Needless to say, WoS has a pretty poor reputation for customer service, and it that bad reputation seems quite deserved! |

It's a shame their policy is only a 48h window. The AD's I work with know I travel often and are willing to hold in their safe for however long until I make it in. I feel like that's how we should be treated spending considerable amount of money for a luxury experience.

I requested this reference whilst in Milan on a business trip last week (I cancelled my two-year old request for a sub-date, as I managed to get one in the UK). I got a call within a few days and booked a flight from the Uk immediately. Picked it up yesterday. It’s a really nice looking casual wear watch. Great that you got your hands on one. I hope you enjoy wearing it.
My understanding of why AD’s want customers to pick up watches early is so that they can be allocated another watch from Rolex the following week. If everyone took a few weeks to pick their watch up the AD would miss out on many sales over a year. |

My ‘understanding’ is based on what a London Rolex Boutique AD told me when I asked why there was such a rush for me to pick up a watch. I wasn’t allowed to pay over the phone and pick up later (but I’ve only been a customer for a few years, so that may be the reason).

My AD is in a different county and gives me up to two weeks to go over and purchase.

My Wish List item came in earlier than expected. I had until 5PM the next day to pick it up. The AD would only take full payment over the phone to hold it- not a deposit. I don't have a credit card with that limit so off it went...Now, waiting again for the next Sea-Dweller.

WOS does not care about any customer period, maybe the whales that have a relationship with the manager and the SA. I have not seen care about anyone. Policy is policy and that’s it.
Again, I would try anyway, if I really wanted it. I hope the Op gets his watch that he waited for. |

But instead you seem to have just accepted the situation and not put in any effort at all into what was most likely not a difficult situation. |

I highly doubt I would have gotten very far in life if I didn’t push back a bit … To me, rules are suggestions rather than mandates… “Sorry Mr. Moreno, I just spoke to my Rolex manager and we are unable to make any kind of exceptions” Thanks, Phil - I’m gonna go rant on TRF now. Great script, dude! Unfortunately, I wouldn’t have been able to use it because A: Not a customer B: Not valued (Insert rolls eyes emoji here)

I guess it really depends AD to AD. My AD gave me a week to pay and even adjusted the bracelet before I paid. WOS and Bucherer are just scum companies and it's no surprise that they only give 2 days to pay

I’m confused. Why not just give them your credit card info so that it’s bought and paid for?
