I received a DHL notification that I have a shipment coming from the Uk, arriving Monday!

It’s not clear to me that this is the book, but it’s the only shipment I have arriving from the UK … keep you posted

Nice!!!

With all these scams going on lately, I wasn’t certain if the email I received was legit. When I got to my PC I entered the tracking number and it appears that I’ll receive mine on Monday.

Thanks for sharing.

It may go a long way to suppressing the notions of "rarity" and by extention what underpins secondary market values and perhaps have flow on effects with flipping.
Select vintage watches will have a renewed focus.

I’m actually surprised at the low production numbers on the 116610LN given its 10 year production period. This means we’re talking about ~41k a year which compared to demand seems quite low.

If you use this production numbers and speculate on the Daytona the supply vs demand comparison is probably even more lopsided.

I would imagine the numbers of the 116500 Panda Daytona would be quite low. Especially that it was produced for only 7 years including two Covid years of low or non existent production.

I wonder what the production volumes for SS Daytonas are in relation to SS sub volumes (no date and date combined).

Assuming maybe it’s 60%, we’re talking about 25k watches per year, multiplied by 5 years of non Covid years, which gets us to 125K. Add in the COVID year volumes which let’s say is slashed by half and you get another 25K. That brings us to more or less around 150K over the 7 year production cycle. Seems low in relation to demand but I don’t have a reference point to compare to.

I have an order in but won't arrive for a while.

Does it make any mention of the corresponding Tudor models? Especially for 50s/60s references it's nice to see them side by side.

I"m glad it includes SDs.

looking at the current subs produced since 2020. on the SS models, only 3 out of 10 are NDs. interesting.

How did you get that

126610 LV Green Sub Date 103,584
126610 Black Sub Date 177,328
Sub No Date 124060 82,382

Approx 4 years production, numbers don't include 2024

4.65 ND vs 10 Date

total current SS subs since 2020 = 103 + 177 + 82 = 362
ND = 82
% of ND = 82/362 =0.227
sorry approx 23% not 30%

Also interesting that there are few 124060s than 126610LVs.

I feel the ratio should only be made with black Sub only. Like to Like, as the choice between Sub and Sub date is usually made by buyers who want a black Sub. Buyers who want a green LV don't consider the ND black Subs

Your original post wasn’t clear on the distinction of LN only, as you included LV numbers above your ratio.

Many others may include both steel 126610LN/LV numbers. There is even an argument to include all Submariners and Submariner Dates (PM models).

Any time reporting statistics or ratios, you have to be very clear on your definitions.

Also, no one is being “fooled” by any claims of rarity, I think most are just genuinely interested in production numbers as the Submariner release by Rolex is a first in its history.
