OP here with an update..

WOW, my Deep Sea SeaDweller is done.. 11 days from receipt to completion!

I shipped it to the Dallas RSC via Fedx on 11-Sept, they received it on 12-Sept, and I just received the completion email.

The price was exactly the $900 they quoted. I called in and provided my credit card info and it appears I will have it back tomorrow via Fedx Overnight service.

I'll update again when the watch arrives...

Yes, Dallas RSC is very efficient these days. I shipped them my 116618LB gold sub on Sept 6th, they received on Monday the 9th, and I just got the email today that they're finished with it. I just got off the phone with them, paid over the phone, and they're going to ship it out either today or tomorrow, so I should have it back by Wednesday at the latest. This mirrors my experience earlier this Summer when I sent in my Z-blue Milgauss, it took about 3 weeks from the time I sent it off, until the time it came back to me. And of course they did a fantastic job, looked/felt brand new.

Of course they do, because you'll need that to be sure it won't leak when you go on your next 10,000 to 15,000 ft SCUBA dive.

OP back. My DSSD arrived via Fedx this morning. 12 days from my wrist to back on my wrist. The watch appears brand new. Even though this was one of my daily wear Rolexes and ~8 year old there was no damage, only some minor wear marks. All edges remain perfectly crisp after the service . Included was a embossed Rolex pouch. This was a perfect service experiance by the Dallas RSC. Sorry my phone didn't capture the blue on the dial....

Rolex DeepSea - SeaDweller RSC Service Estimate....

Was there any degradation of the crown on the clasp? I’m so nervous to send a watch in for service as I am afraid it will wear down the crown.

LOL, zero issue with the crown.

I can't image Rolex polishing the bracelet clasp to the point of wearing down that crown...

good luck...

Any confirmation regarding HEV replacement that you mentioned in your original post that had occurred on your previous SD servicing?

Ima be honest…..I think Dallas RSC is awesome. I’ve sent stuff in, I’ve visited in person, always had an excellent experience. Well aside from my first send in where they didn’t tell me about the tape (I used clear) and they refused the package. But aside from that everything is always done right, efficiently, and they’re super nice. I even requested on my Sub one time that they get rehaut aligned better with the dial and they did it.

Good to hear positive experiences

Also nice to know, as the proud owner of a new 136660, that service won’t be nuts.

They currently have my 18238 Day-Date and I requested them to not polish the coronet on the clasp. Someone reached out to me before confirming the work done and they specifically told me that they spoke to the technician that would work on my watch and he agreed to my request and said he will polish everything else except the crown on the president clasp.

So far they are excellent and they have called me a few times to double check everything and went into detail about what will be done.

OP, I’m glad it worked out smooth for you! Your DS looks brand new. I can’t wait until I get my watch back. I’ll create a thread once I get it back with the details.

While I believe it was replaced I'm not certain and I'm going to call them tomorrow for a detailed service order.

My original HEV on this watch was somewhat dull, off-color, and dark, however valve now appears more polished and matching the watch case..

On my last (2) Sea Dwellers the RSC automatically replaced the HEV as part of the service and it was called out as a line item on the repair order, but on this one, I didn't receive an 'after the fact' repair order with the watch.

So I'll call tomorrow and report back.....

I just spoke to the Dallas RSC. They confirmed that the HEV was replaced on my DSSD and the replacement is part of the "Complete Overhaul" on Sea Dwellers.

The HEV now looks a bit different, the original was somewhat of a dullish gray color and the new valve is more shiny.

Overall, my service experience this time with the Dallas RSC could not have been better...

I just received the estimate from Dallas RSC for my 2018 SD43. Mine was running over 15 seconds slow per day!

$900 for overhaul and shipping, plus $155 to replace sapphire crystal (d30.67 3.5 anti-reflective). They said the cyclops was scratched. Can't wait to see the results!

The $900 includes the $50 return shipping, correct?

My DSSD was $850 + $50 return shipping (Fedx next morning) = $900 total.

Good luck.....

Yes. Sorry, I just updated my post. BTW, have you tried out placing your warranty card next to your smartphone?

Great info.

Have you held the service card next to your smart phone? Does the info shown include the itemized service details?

LOL, I didn't even know that was a 'thing'. Thank you for the tip!

I took a pic of the card's QR code and it took me to the Rolex service site. I have an Iphone 8 with IOS 16.7 so those are OK. The Site also states I must have NFC activated. Since that's the first time I've heard of NFC I probably don't have it enabled on my phone and will have to figure out how to do that (unless someone here knows)..

thank you

EDIT. I enabled NFC. It shows my watch model, SN, guarantee validity period and 'type of service performed' is 'Complete overhaul"

thanks again for the tip...

Awesome! Thanks for the information, very good to hear. I have a while until my DSSD is due (knock on wood), but this is good to know.

OP here, and for what it's worth, I looked in its original box, mine is 8 years and 3 months old before requiring service..

It's my usual but not always daily driver.

best of luck to all...

Congrats, OP, great watch, looks fantastic, and I’m sure you appreciate the peace of mind in knowing it’s good for another 10 years.

And only 12 days?! That has to be some sort of record for a full service! Cheers!

Over the years when sending a watch to RSC Dallas I have always used USPS registered return receipt. This is the only way I will ship a watch, I really don’t care about the length of time in transit. Nice to read about short service times. I always remember the old ninety day turn around.

I don't know why you would think that will happen. I have sent watches to Rolex Service at least 8 or 9 times and the only thing that ever happens is that they come back looking like the day they came out of the factory; perfect.

I am glad to see that your watch came back in great shape. I have always had excellent service experiences with Rolex in New York but it sounds like Dallas is the go to place now. I will probably send mine through my local dealer when it needs service. It should be a long time before one of mine is due or needs service. My SD43 is only a few years old and my Deepsea is brand new, like the OP's is again.
