For you, the 36 looks best. And it's the classic size that will never go out of style for the D-D.

40 looks like a billboard IMO. 36 looks like it belongs perfectly.

I think both look great. The 40mm is not too big at all IMO. 36mm is the classic size. If you want a bit more sporty then go 40mm. I have both sizes and small wrists. Still love my 40mm and will never get rid of it

36mm it fits your better. For a dress watch you want to go a bit smaller.

I like the 40 on you. A little more wrist presence but definitely not overwhelming your wrist.

Can’t go wrong with either, but I’d lean to the 40 since I have a 7” wrist.

36 looks better. They are both great though. If it's preowned, there isn't enough difference or material to justify 20k extra for me.

I love the 40 and after having gone 40 find it hard to wear the 36. I have both.

I think both can work, but I like the 36 better.
Definitely 40 if you are trying to be a rapper or action adventure movie star.

Depends how you want it to wear. Based on the pictures, you look to be of fairly small stature so I think the 36mm looks a lot more your size and timeless especially..if you wear suits regularly.
The first 40mm pic shows that the watch is quite large relative to your hand size and the dial takes up most of your wrist even from a distance. Just like ultra close ups, distance pictures can also be a little misleading. In the end, get whatever you prefer most.. |

This is tuff, the 36 does work and looks great on your wrist - but I would only say that for a 36mm DD full gold. Other than that, I do agree the 40mm is a better size. Totally up to you.

as I age, and so do my eyes, I've come to appreciate that the DD40 is likely the best choice. I'm nearly 50 and a DD40 is in the cards next year. One watch to rule them all! |

If anyone tells you to go for the 36 because it’s the true size or something along that line, you can pretty much ignore everything else they say. Fact of the matter is, tastes in watches are different, not to mention as an aggregate they have trend larger. Were the DD conceived today the 36 would likely be marketed primarily towards women. That said, given the heritage and my own preferences I absolutely love the 36, but went with the 40 personally due to my overall stature (not saying I’m a big guy by any stretch, but something to also consider is your overall frame) and how I envision wearing the watch (GADA, e.g. extremely casual to business). For most, it’s a considerable purchase, you should only consider what YOU like and what YOU want to see when you look down. FWIW, you could pull off either but I think the 36 looks fantastic on you. Oh, and you should go with champagne ;) Another thing to also consider, many, including myself, will attest to the illusion of a slightly larger watch with the monochromatic nature of champagne on YG.

lol Yes, trends and tastes change. They are always changing. Just like they have changed away from large watches. The large watch look is mostly left for the older guys now. Unrelated, I also think we can ignore everything else someone says if they also say a 36mm is for women. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Imo, this is one strong reason to choose the 36.
Trends will come and trends will go (even absent a clear consensus on direction!) while, like the Dude, the 36 abides. |

Being snarky- Buy an iron before you buy the watch. For goodness sakes did you pull the shirt out of the laundry basket? Get the 40. Your shirt looks too big.
