Other Variations of the Tudor "Coke" 58 GMT?

As a huge fan of the Rolex 5-digit GMT, as soon as the 39mm Black Bay 58 came out, I was hoping for a GMT version.

When the 58 GMT was revealed, I thought the colors were okay when seeing online, but I wasn't crazy about it. After seeing it in person, I really don't like it. The bezel and dial are just a big mash up of black, maroon, and shades of gold and cream. It looks like someone vomited those colors on to the dial and bezel--it just all blends together (and not in a good way).

It would look 100% better without the gilding. The watch looks like its trying too hard to be an old Rolex GMT. Don't be what you aren't--just be a shiny, bright, new-looking Tudor GMT (like the Black Bay 41 GMT). Get rid of the cheesy looking gilding, and use traditional colors of black, red, blue, and green on the bezel and GMT hand.

Does anyone think Tudor will use that 58 GMT platform to start introducing next year other models with white markings on the dial and different bezel colors? I sure hope so!

I agree. I wasn't too keen viewing the pics. But after seeing it and trying it on, I really don't like the gold numbers on the bezel at all. I'm not a big fan of the square on the GMT hand, but the gold on the bezel is a no for me.

I really like the 58 GMT idea, though.

I was meh about it at 1st but when I saw in person I really liked it and picked one up. It does give vintage Rolex vibes but that's what I like about it

I think the next will be an all-black S&G version on Jubilee. That's a watch just begging to be revived by Tudor as a BB58 GMT.

Would also love to see what amounts to a BB54 with a bidirectional bezel and 3-6-9 dial to revive the original, dateless, ToG.

Agree that the gilding looks off, particularly since it was always discoloration - not intent - that got that look on the Rolex models. I honestly would have preferred that my BB54 had come with silver hands/markers, but understand that the gold is what kept it true to the original.

Potentially a controversial opinion but would be nice if they made a two-tone version with the jubilee bracelet - come on Tudor!!!!

I bought a a bb58 GMT a couple of months ago. It’s been my most worn watch since. I love the case size and t fit clasp. I don’t mind the guilt on the bezel on the gold hands. Tho the GMT had could be a different colour to stand out more. I find the date window very hard to read without my glasses tho. lol. Other than that glad o picked it up.

I really like this model, but prefer the version on the rubber strap. It's the next piece that I want to try on to see how the fit feels. I was set on the new version of the BB 41 until I got the new Chrono and realized just how big (and heavy) true 41 mm really is!

I think it’s an excellent way to wear a nice GMT in places where you wouldn’t wear a Rolex GMT and once it comes out on jubilee or if I’m able to retrofit with a suitable alternative jubilee, I will pick one up.

Whenever I’m in LHR T3, I’m checking WOS.

I think Tudor got the BB GMT size & colors right the 1st time. I will admit the ability to sport an OEM 5-Link w/ T-Fit clasp takes it to an entirely new level.

Had a Tudor Pepsi but felt too bulky for my 6.5" wrist. I currently have a BB58 which has become my GADA piece. If they drop a BB58 GMT Opaline Dial on the Five Link Bracelet, that would be my Tudor "Grail" so to speak. I hope Tudor is reading this.

The only thing about this and some other Black Bay models that I don't love are the fake rivets. The gilt is a subtle way to pay homage to the vintage GMT without doing something like faux patina, which I find tacky.

Also, I am highly certain that within a year or two they will release a 58 GMT model without the gilt. I am not so sure we see an end to the fake rivets anytime soon...

Thanks to help from Dave O and your inspiration, using his contact I was able to get this 5 link with T-Fit as well. You are right it is a complete game changer.
