AP Royal oak no screw down crown and water resistance
Good morning everyone,
My AP 15550st doesn’t have a screw down crown but it provides 50m of water resistance. Apparently this is fine for everyday wear but I like to wash my watches with dawn and water from the faucet (every few weeks). Thoughts? |

Good question!
I have a watch that’s rated to 3 bar water resistance (30m) and that has a push down crown and I keep it well away from water. All other watches I’ve had/have atleast 100m resistance and these all get frequently washed (twice a week I’d guess?) under warm soapy water with a dedicated toothbrush. I would probably treat a 15550 the same as I treat my 3 bar watch although I’d for sure dunk the bracelet under and give it a good scrub. Keen to see the thoughts of others as I do really fancy a 15550 at some stage hopefully in the not too distant future. |

I do this with my 16202, which doesn't have a screw down crown. I also swim with it and will swim to the bottom of the pool (usually 1.5-2m)
