I think Sterns looked a little too hard at Cartier...

For me it's not as much as me disliking it. It is more that it makes Thierrys statements on not just being the nautilus company a bit disingenuous. Talk about lazy design use the same dial, same strap attachment, same ears. At least do a different stamp pattern like the aquanaut did.

I agree with you on Thierrys statements. Brings me back a few years ago when he said Patek isn't a nautilus company, then goes on to release the tiffany nautilus. I always saw that Tiffany release as the perfect opportunity to bring spotlight to their dress watch collection... but i guess Patek has different ideas.

Not to make this an AP vs PP discussion, but I do appreciate AP's coordinated messaging (i.e. they are all-in on RO) even if it's not to one's taste.

I share your frustration at Stern’s disingenuousness. But let’s hope PP never succumbs to AP’s model of being a one-line brand. PP still has many vibrant and distinct lines.

That to me is what makes it even lazier. Rolex puts everything in an oyster case. AP essentially has 3 cases with the royal oak, concept and code. Patek has so many variations with clou de Paris case, shaped cases, double step lugs, triple step lugs etc etc and they recycle just about everything for this line.
