Christmas is approaching: what watch are you looking to add to your collection?

Jingle bell season is upon us and the means….nice shiny watch presents! What watch/es are you looking to add and why?

For me it’s the 3rd gen Vacheron Overseas Blue and a nice dress watch (perhaps a Lange or Reverso Ultra thin depending on how much damage I do to my wallet :) Currently have the two new Daytonas in black and white and these will add some nice diversity.

I wish a Patek 5236P. But that's probably years down the line with how life is going right now

Either Omega Aqua Terra or Grand Seiko Spring Drive … we shall see. I’m done for Rolex for a while. For everything I wanted from the crown this year.

The next, and only watch that I will be buying will be selected based on how smoothly it winds. I have literally purchased probably a hundred timepieces over the last 30 years and will judge the next on how smooth the movement winds, just like my old DJ's or Subs used to wind. Having owned many Rolex watches over the years I always used the brand as the standard in smooth and easy winding of the crown.

I have purchased numerous other brands only to be disappointed with how difficult they were to wind the watch to get it started, not to mention tearing up my fingers trying to wind the watch and set the time, so the test will be to go to an AD and look at many brands, Rolex included and make the selection based on the "wind."

The 321 is an absolute pleasure to wind

I'd like a Moser Pioneer 40mm with the cosmic green fume dial/HMC201 movement.

I should wait until they likely debut another dial color in April. I'll either like that one better or at least it should lower the secondary market price of the green. We'll see. Happy hunting everyone!

My final addition into an already too many Rolex collection is the Platinum 40 mm Day Date with fluted bezel and white dial. Been offered the diamond accented version and passed. Been on a few lists waiting.

Have all the watches I want and so won’t be adding any more this year. Look forward to making more memories with the ones I have, with those I love.

I feel rather spoilt with my air-king 114200, sub 114060, and Daytona 116500. I'm going to enjoy various whiskey's for the next two months, swapping between bourbon and scotch depending on mood.

I'm slightly interested in an Explorer 1, but I'm not sure which size, and I have zero plans to investigate further at the moment.

I will be very interested if Rolex drops the Explorer 2 back down to 40mm, beyond that I'm just relaxing and enjoying what I have.

Looking at the IWC 36mm blue dial just to mix things up a little.

Adding some diversity to your collection is always exciting! Have you spotted any other watches catching your eye lately?
