Rolex 1675 Movement (1570) Correctness

Hi all, happy Sunday! I was looking to buy a watch with this 1570 movement in it but felt that this part (circled in pink) of the movement seemed weird.

Comparing to some other photos online, the font seems too "unbold" (skinny) and weird looking versus other references (HQmilton, VRF, TRF, etc)

Is this normal and just something that was within Rolex margin of error?

Using Imgur due to photo size restrictions: https://imgur.com/a/zbEIcQH

Thank you in advance to all replies!

As well as the 1570 looking odd, there are some other clues that the upper bridge might be aftermarket, for example, there are other letter shapes that aren't correct and the surface finish is suspect.

I don't know whether this is the only aftermarket part but I'm also a bit suspicious of the rotor and the reversing wheels and wonder if the entire reversing mechanism has been swapped.

It certainly warrants more work to check these and other parts against known genuine ones because some of them can be quite expensive to replace.

It's fine - I bet the watch you are looking at is 1975-78? Rolex got a little more sloppy then?

Learn something new everyday. thanks again. The watch is from 1973, which I suppose isn't too far off

For comparison, below you'll find the first three photos from different GMT 1675s circa 1977-78 and the last photo from a 1973 GMT 1675.

I would suggest the OP pass on the watch he asked about.

It would appear the upper bridge was hand engraved at watchmaking preschool.

Would you please address your comments regarding the upper bridge appears to have been engraved at watchmaking preschool. Maybe you could circle this on the op's photo and address what you are referring to.

If you could do this, it would help me since I've had a couple members ask me what you were referring to and I wasn't able to provide a proper response.

John
I was referring to the caliber number.

This picture by the OP has the caliber circled.

Thanks Paul. Below is a photo from one of my GMTs. It is very similar - near identical - to the OP's 1570 stamping. I believe his movement is genuine based on many others that I have compared it to from my library of GMTs.
