need some opinions
Not one to reach out to a forum group for opinions, as i think we all should do what we want to do. However, I am at a crossroads and can't come up with an answer. I have an AP ROO 26240SO 43mm Stainless with carbon bezel, black face. I have really become obsessed with a WG DayDate with the blue dial. Am I crazy for thinking I should trade the AP.? I'll have to kick some cash in on my side.

I would personally do that trade. In my opinion…the Day Date is a special watch! I would have that in my collection before I would have the AP ROO

Hmm this is a tough one. I have a 43 roo and 2 dd 40s. I love the offshore and it makes a better daily for me. But the dd’s are so nice. No harm in switching it up and rocking the dd for a while. You can always trade into something different when you want to change.

I would not do that trade, but I would definitely add the WG Day-Date by giving up something else…

Not a fan of any of the RO range, not a real fan of precious metal watches, but given the choice I would go for the DD.

I’m not sure I’d be doing that trade. Maybe when the time is right add to your collection instead of giving something up that you’d probably regret doing later

I would do that trade in a heartbeat. Not a fan of AP and you have selected an iconic Rolex with a great dial. Go for it.

I'd do that trade. I'm a big fan of AP but the DD is the better watch in my opinion.

It would depend on how much cash and what else is in the collection.

Not a fan of the larger AP at 43mm so I would do the trade.

Thank you all, This is my 3rd AP ROO and I go from have to have it, to maybe its too big and maybe a bit loud if I can even say that against a DD. Pretty sure i'm going to do the trade. Only hangup now is size. Wear a Starbucks regularly so don't think it will be too small. Appreciate all that took the time to reply.

Do the trade, the DayDate is a better daily wear.

All depends on the use of the AP? ROO is a daily then no , because the DD is not a good daily in most situations. I use mine DD YG for special occasions or events.. too much bling for a daily. Maybe in WG yes, less flashy and not as much attention on the wrist.
I would definitely add the DD it is a must in any collection, they are the best that Rolex has to offer for almost 70 years in production. Post some pics if you decide to get one. Cheers, |

The watches are quite different pieces, but if it were me, the trade for the WG DD (40mm) would already be done. And I disagree slightly with Zach, above. I think that a WG DD can potentially be worn as a daily in most situations (depending upon your average day). A YG DD is less versatile (i.e., too flashy) for a daily-ish wear (IMHO). That said, you should definitely have another SS timepiece for those days that a WG piece cannot (or should not be) worn.
