White dial daytona 126500ln or 116500ln

Yes I know this has been discussed and I have read all the discussions but I am curious what the more current opinion is.

On other forums it seemed to start heavily favoring thec116 and has steadily moved to the 126 over time.

So out of curiosity today which one and why?

Was 126 for me from the get-go. To my eyes, more refined.

Reasonable minds may differ of course.

Well I think it also depends on your price point

116500 is like $3000 or so less on the grey market than 126500

What is your goal? does the pricing matter?
I highly doubt an AD has a 116500 available at the MSRP

Since the 16520 Zenith was the absolute perfect aesthetic representation of a chronograph watch, after arguably a few decades of design misses with later iterations, Rolex has now once again hit the ball outside the park with the new 12 series reference. My post here explains more and extensive community opinions https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=965574

Yes I enjoyed your post. I just believe the ceramic is better than the stainless bezel.

I like all the subtle refinements of the 12 series Daytonas. In fact, as someone who never really coveted one, it's now I watch I really want to add to my collection. I think the Le Mans Daytona is aesthetically the perfect representation of what a modern Daytona should be. Make it in stainless steel, put a solid caseback on it, and it would be the best modern luxury chronograph in my humble opinion.

116500 for sure primarily because of monoblock cerachrome bezel! The SS ring on 126500/1x is a dent magnet and will show wear over time as all Daytonas prior to 116500.

Completely agree, by far. In fact, I decided to go grey and buying a Panda 116500LN two weeks ago and next time I go to my AD, I will speak with them to explain that, once having seen all of the on my wrist, I have changed my mind and I would want black dial instead of the white one because I prefer exactly what you have said.

There is a post likely on the first page here that shows 4 generations of Daytona. Look for yourself.

Heck I would take both, but I do prefer the newer 12 model due to the slim sub dial’s resemblance to the zenith era of Daytonas.

126 would be my choice. I like the new styling features with the thinner subdial rings, thinner indices, and the outer metal around the bezel which pays tribute to the vintage Daytona style. Also, the even lugs on the 126 compared to the 116 with one side that was thinner. The 126 has an updated movement too. 72 hour power reserve. However, in the end, either one is a beautiful watch and there's no wrong choice.
