Icon6 5905 R - 010 vs 5205 R - 011

Hi trying to decide which of these two is the better buy .I like the beautiful blue face & strap on the 5905 but am concerned it is 14.03 mm thick vs 11:36 mm on 5205 . Not being able to see & try on in person makes decision more difficult. Also tbe resale price on both seems to be about the same $ 60-65 k .
Interestingly the MSRP for blue 5905 is $77700 vs $59390 for green 5205 .
Although I have 8 Pateks and don’t hardly ever resell , I still want to make a good investment in case I ever should decide to resell . Just wondering if anyone has had experience with either of these or both.opinions? Thanks james ( Michael ) in San Antonio Tx .

Keep in mind the 5905 is 42mm vs 40mm for the 5205. Im highly interested in the former due to its size and added chrono function. Sorry I can’t help more, but I would also be purchasing site unseen as well. Good luck in your decision, both are beautiful pieces!

Of the two here, I’d go 5905 even knowing it is big for my wrist because I love that blue.
Could also consider 5960 as it may fit better.

I've tried on the 5205 and it definitely feels thick. If the 5905 is thicker that's a hard pass for me, although the larger case may help. The 5205 felt small but stubby to me if that makes sense. It would be worth calling and traveling to an AD that has them as display models and try them on. That's the only way you will know for sure. Good luck!

5905 is a very beautiful piece it’s not chunky despite its dimensions due to its curves

Here is some photos hope it’s will help to make up your mind

Hi KoKo appreciate your beautiful pics . Just curious I have a small wrist but usually wear my timepiece close to my wrist. I have a 5164 R that I have no problem with but it is 40 mm not 42 like the 5906 plus 5905 is 14 mm thick as opposed to to 11 . What has been your experience? Would you purchase it again if you could start over ? Any input is really appreciated- getting ready to pull the trigger maybe tomorrow! :-)

Hi Michael,

It doesn’t look a 42mm watch especially when you compare it to another 42mm watch like sky dweller for instance and this is because of its design it has some curves

It is a very beautiful watch color ,is royal blue not navy blue

Good luck & happy hunting
