Just Wanted to introduce myself

Hi my name is Chuck & I've been reading TRF for a few years now. I joined in Jan 09 but didn't make any posts until a few weeks ago. I hope to be getting my first Rolex soon. The wife isn't happy but as long as I am thats what counts.

Well, it is important to keep the "team" happy. I'm sure your wife wants you to pursue your passions just as you would want her to do.
Welcome to TRF and good luck,
dP

Maybe I came off wrong. What I was trying to say was my wife regards a watch as something that just tells time.My wife & I love each other but I will never convince her why I want a Rolex. I've worked hard all my life since I was 18yrs old. I don't gamble, go out drinking, go on vacations without her like some husbands do. So, I feel this is the one thing that will make me happy.....

True, but don't throw the rest of us, husbands that go out without our wifes, under the bus! Goodluck on the watch hunt. Welcome

Welcome to TRF!

Sounds like you deserve a Rolex! One watch is hardly an extravagance. Just try to rationalize it as buying one watch of quality that will last longer than if you bought 10 bad watches that you keep replacing.

Good luck and tell us how it goes.

Hi Chuck and a big welcome to TRF

I know where you stand on the wife front :-) My better half hates watches, would have to be the only thing we do disagree on but I get my way in the end hahahahha

Just think how much happiness the purchase will make you, I know I still get a twinkle in the eye and that fluttery feeling when buying one :-) my 40th coming up next year and nothing says 40th like a GMT IIc or Explorer II well that my thoughts hahahhah

Best of luck on your quest and I guarantee what ever you choose with put a smile on you dial

Enjoy,

Dave.
