New member inside and future Rolex owner.
Hello everyone,
I have been looking at the forum on and off for a couple of months now but it is the first time that I am actually starting a thread. I am a big watch enthusiast since I am a kid, I had my first watch when I was something like 5 and I have always loved watch, and Rolexes, ever since, I’m now 26. Anyway, I bought my first automatic watch 3 years ago, a Chopard Mille Miglia and now, I’m about to make a move to a Rolex. I am actually looking at a Stainless Steel GMT IIc, I have been visiting the Ads where I live and am now wondering if this is the watch for me and if I should go for it. The pros are that I love Rolex and I love the GMT, I find it a beautiful watch. The cons is that it may be a bit big for me and too ‘blingy’, also, it is a lot of money. On the other hand, I know that if I don’t buy it now, I probably will regret it and end up buying it later… at an increased price. If I want to buy it now, I will have to make the decision rather quick since where I live, in Luxembourg, the demand is still high for the GMT IIc and I found only one available at an AD. So let me know what you think, has anyone here regret buying the watch or are you still happy with it like you were before to buy ? I think it is the right section to post but if you think I should post in the general section to have more answers, let me know. Arno. |

I've never regretted buying any of my Rolexes. The TagHeuers are a different story
I know of people on this forum who have regretted selling a watch, but never the other way around. Rolex being excellent watches will hold their values well just in case you decide the brand is not for you and flip it down the road. Oh, and welcome to TRF!

Hi Arno, and welcome to TRF
Believe me you will never regret buying a Rolex, I've had a few over the years :-) The only thing I do regret is selling a Rolex and no more than a week later wished I hadn't, but thats life :-) A GMT IIc is a great choice, always been my fave, I'm still thinking about getting one by the end of the year either that or an explorer II, then again, here I go again too many choices and not enough budget Have a great time here, join and, I know you'll love it! Enjoy, Dave.

Welcome to TRF Arno.
As Dave has said the GMT is an outstanding timepiece - you'll love it. And same here never regretted a single one that I have purchased. Never. Good luck

Thanks everyone,
I posted a new thread in the general section but can you tell me if it is normal that it has to be approved before it is visible and will it always do so ?? |
