1964 Sub 5513 Dial help required

Hi guys,
I have an early 5513 that appears to be pretty much correct. It came from an estate and the storey goes the owner was a diver working on the North Sea oil rigs and also dived in some capacity for the Royal Navy. It has the gents name on the back that I might or might not polish out. It appears that during its life it might well have been to Rolex for a service, when a replacement dial was fitted. This does seem correct as it is a gloss one with WG makers. Question, what would be the correct dial and where I am I likely to find one without breaking the bank? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Jeff.

Hi, I am pretty sure that for 1964 you would have a gilt dial similar to the one pictured below, note - this is NOT my picture.

you could contact various people here on TRF, Steve M, Dalton to start with, to try and obtain one. I am thinking it won't be cheap though!!

Yeah, as Michael says you'll want a gilt/gloss meters first. I think you're a bit late for an inclosed minute ring. Without (as in his pic) would be my focus. They can be had though I'd guess some $$$.

Good luck.

Get it done right!
If not sell it to me haha

I think I like the project idea more than wearing vintage...

You need a gilt dial no chapter ring, it is not so difficult to find out, I saw some in the market...

Good luck finding the dial soon
In the meantime you can still enjoy the watch with the existing dial
