Question regarding Rolex model 1500!

I came across this Oyster Perpetual Date model 1500. The seller said the winding is counterclockwise only. Is this correct? Also, what would be a price range for this model in running condition (original owner doesn't wear it a lot and acquired it around 1969). Thanks!
