Here, padi has posted information spelled out by mike who certainly knows his way around vintage. Check it out and go from there. I don't think you'll find a better starting point.

That is a subject that I have recently given a lot of thought. The 6239 I bought from the original owner's grandchildren only had the head at first. I just received the original jubilee bracelet which is in rebuildable condition.

I have already bought a bracelet, a USA expanding type and have that currently on the watch. That bracelet is being re-finished also. I want to keep the original jubilee bracelet with the watch so I guess it will have two.

But the dial, hands, bezel, case, and pushers will not be touched. The dial is beautiful unfortunately two of the tritium dots have disintegrated, a common occurrence. It usually happens at 3 and 9 o'clock just where your fingers would naturally pick up the dial.

I could buy a new perfect dial and replace the original. I also just saw an NOS bezel that is period correct. Some prefer to make the watch look better or cleaner or whatever but I prefer to keep them as original as possible. JMHO =) maverick
