Water-resistant to 3 atm = 30 meters (100 feet). Will withstand splashes of water or rain but should not be worn while swimming or diving.
Water-tested to 5 atm = 50 meters (165 feet). Suitable for showering or swimming in shallow water. Water-tested to 10 atm = 100 meters (330 feet). Suitable for swimming and snorkeling. Water-tested to 15 atm = 150 meters (500 feet). Suitable for snorkeling. Water-tested to 20 atm = 200 meters (660 feet).but not meeting ISO standard Suitable for skin diving only. Diver's 15atm = 150 meters (500 feet). Meets ISO standards and is suitable for scuba diving. Diver's 200 meters 20 atm = (660 feet). Meets ISO standards and is suitable for scuba diving. But not suitable for depths which require helium-oxygen mixture.

If you wear it all the time, I would consider only showering once a year, whether you need it or not.
That's the problem with SDs, Craig. They're just not made to be in the water, even when it rains.

Panerai 300m still only rated as a normal recreational scuba dive watch.Have been to a max depth of 63m with my Citizen a 200m rated watch without a problem. But would have thought that was very close to its max limit.

Very interesting. I'm amused that my ExpII is 'only' rated to 100m and yet my TAG Heuer Kirium (hold the scorn please ) is rated to 200m. I've been as deep as 120m with it... no worries. |
