Ladies TT Jubilee Bracelet Repair Possible?

My wife snagged something near the clasp of her band a couple of times.

This time it pulled the band apart at the clasp, literallly streching the two stainless links completely off the pin at the clasp.

The watch is a late '70's two tone ladies. I recently had the band refurbished in Hong Kong, and it's in good shape for it's age.

Do I have any options beyond buying a new band?

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,

That could be repaired by a good watchmaker.

Best you just take it in and show it to your nearest Rolex RSC or AD (whichever is more convenient). See what they have to say or suggest.

Taking the age of the watch into consideration, I would have the ENTIRE bracelet checked out for any weak links or wear and tear on the pins that are holding the links together.

These older Jubilee bracelets weren't very strong and were also prone to a lot of stretch.

Yes, sir........that bracelet needs a FULL and complete check up.

Good luck - JJ

I have an early 80's DJ that looks close to doing this, but the bracelet is SOOO stretched, I would really just like to replace it. Nice to know it could be repaired though.

Mike, did you have it done by Michael Young at Classic Watch Parts? If so, I'm sure he'd be able to correct it. If not, email him with pix of the damage.

Several members here have had very good results with his work.

I don't want to get technical, but according to chemistry alcohol IS a solution!

Michael did do the work, but this is not a problem he created. I'm trying to figure out a solution easier than sending the band back to him. I'm sure he could repair it.

I have found these replacement pieces on Ebay, both just the piece as shown here and a complete link that I could replace by just removing the threaded screw pin.

Not original Rolex parts, but it's just one link.
