Hello to you all ! :)

As you might be able to decode from my member name I live in Denmark - my name is Peter.

I have recently purchased my fírst Rolex - a Seadweller Deepsea. And I have to say that it is an awsome watch that I now carry on a daily basis.

To finance the purchase I have sold out a modest collection of cheaper modern dive/tool watches (including an Omega Seamaster 2254.50.00) and most of my collection of vintage Omega dress watches.

Untill 2 months ago I was an avid Omega vintage dress watch collector (I still own an immaculate mint 1964 Pie Pan Constellation 36 mm, that I will never sell !), but one morning found myself questioning the joy of "hoarding" old watches just to be looking at them and not wearing them on a daily basis.

The second reason for my action is that I am a Millitary Legal Adviser with the Royal Danish Airforce and will in february 2010 be deployed on loan to the Danish Army to Afghanistan as part of the staff of the Danish Battlegroup in Helmand - this no doubt will be quite an experience (very much looking forward to it), so I want to carry a watch that can stand the environment and the possible beating AND at the same time posses enough joy of ownership to be matched by its sentimental value as it will become a "war-companion" for the years to come. And some day it is to be passed on to my son, Mads, who hopefully will appreciate the story behind his dad´s "old watch" :)

Enough explanations - here is a picture to complete the post:

Welcome Peter.

The DSSD suits your wrist size perfectly.

Be sure to post a pic of the Pie Pan Constellation in the Omega section.
